All things considered, I would recommend the SteelSeries Arctis 3 headset for gaming.

The only bad thing is they block out everything so well that you don't hear yourself talk when using them for phone calls.

I've heard a lot of good things about this headset and when I tried it out for myself, the quality of it backed up all the information I received.
