  • The final straw, though, was that the analog shoulder buttons would sometimes not work at all, sometimes work as if the maximum was set to 30%

  • However, after only 3 months, the controller is not as accurate or as fast as it used to be, that is why I'm getting the warrantee this time

  • The packaging of the controller was very nice, and tightly packed so there was no movement during shipping

Reviews around weight (4.21 of 5)

  • It has a nice weight and the build feels sturdy like a genuine console controller
  • Feels good in your hands, good weight and easy to use controls
  • The weight is hefty and it feels good in the hand
  • If you have an Xbox one it is very similar to that controller, it is very comfortable to use has a good weight.

Reviews around feel (4.16 of 5)

  • SteelSeries Stratus XL might come closer than others, but in the end, it's still a loose-feeling, lightweight controller that I believe is priced about thirty dollars too high for what it offers
  • The feel is so good, the weight is perfect for me, the buttons were fantasticly exact, the joystik soft like they are supposse to be
  • The buttons have a great feel and the triggers are smooth.
  • Decent build quality, buttons feel good, I really like the matte finish and heavy feel, but I do wish it had a rechargeable battery in it.
  • Great feel to the finish as well as the buttons and analogs

Reviews around quality (4.11 of 5)

  • This is a high quality controller that suffers from very poor documentation
  • Trigger keys are very poor quality - on my first unit the left trigger was overly sensitive so it would register presses just sitting on the table, while the right one could never reach 100% press no matter how hard I pressed
  • Quality of the product was great, I was not a fan of the plastic used for the controller, which is my own bias.
  • Controller fits good in the hands and it looks like it has good build quality, but triggers do not work at all
  • But once you get it going the build quality is fantastic

  • Not able to use more than 2 buttons...maybe 3 in two pricey GEAR VR games.
  • After 3 days, r and l buttons started falling off in the middle of gameplay.
  • This Joysticks works perfectly with my Samsung Oculus VR!!!
  • connects to the galaxy s& and works perfect with the samsung VR

Reviews around product (3.57 of 5)

  • Really disappointing, the controller itself feels solid and I thought Steelseries makes good product.
  • Hoping it was a mistake to send me a defective product and not intentional
  • Its versatility in devices to which it can connect makes it an outstanding product
  • This is clearly a well-made product and achieves the goal I needed of it (to connect to my Galaxy Gear VR device).
  • Received a bad product, triggers didn't work, came without batteries, even came in with a sticker over the actual serial number blocking it.

Reviews around game (3.56 of 5)

  • Been using it with the ppsspp emulator and have used it to play multiple games (dark souls 2, battlefield, call of duty) on my laptop and it's awesome
  • Even though it's the recommended controller, many games do not fully support it and you still end up having to use the touchpad on the headset.
  • This is a great game controller that works well with the Samsung Galaxy VR
  • My only complain it some games may not work with it, I haven't figured out why, but for majority of XBox controller compatible games, it will be fine.
  • Steelseries will not support steam games which means if you purchase to play most of games on Windows you are out of luck

Reviews around button (3.50 of 5)

  • The only gripe, and it is generally a minor one is that the R1 and L1 buttons feel lousy.
  • It work great for a while but than the select button stopped working when pressed, and when I downloaded the SteelSeries Engine it only made the select button work half of the time and when using an emulator the other buttons would mess up too when there was no problem before
  • Compared to the little bit of xbox controller usage I have, it rests in your palms about the same, but I think the actual feel of the controller is superior and the buttons feel less plasticky, which is good
  • It feels very nice in your hands - weighty, good button placement, buttons feel good.
  • The grip feels nice, buttons have a nice bump to them, all is good

Reviews around trigger (3.17 of 5)

  • Riptide GP2, Space Marchalls, Dungeon Hunter 5, Dead Trigger 2, Asphalt 8, every game I tried on my Android phone worked well with the SteelSeries controller
  • it worked great up until the triggers got super touchy and sensitive, many virtual rounds of ammunition watsted without me even pulling the trigger
  • The Left and Right triggers and bumpers were highly sensitive, but once you decrease the controller's trigger and bumper sensitivity it no longer response to any input from the triggers and bumpers
  • Triggers when not pressed show that right trigger is pressed a little, changing dead zone does not help
  • Neither left nor right trigger work on Windows 8 machine.

Reviews around doe (2.18 of 5)

  • It does makes things easier with Gear VR, too, since I did not have to hold my right hand up all the time to use controls on GearVR, which gets annoying quickly
  • Either it does have a connectivity issue or the game/GearVR combo doesn't have full connectivity.
  • Works decent as an android controller, does not work with windows 10.
  • For the few minutes it does work it struggles for control, I cannot use my keyboard while using this controller, which is a huge pain for game slike GTAV and GR Wildlands where i swap to keyboard to shooting portions
  • Seems really well made, does not feel cheap in the hands, very pleased with them.

Reviews around compatibility issue (2.12 of 5)

  • Bluetooth only for PC!I haven't ran into any compatibility issues with any Android game so far
  • The final straw, though, was that the analog shoulder buttons would sometimes not work at all, sometimes work as if the maximum was set to 30%
  • However, after only 3 months, the controller is not as accurate or as fast as it used to be, that is why I'm getting the warrantee this time
  • I do have a steel series arctis 7 headset which is amazing but this controller just has too many compatibility issues at the moment for windows
  • Loved it until it broke, when it did break i opened it up and saw whoever soddered the wires on didnt do a very good job

Reviews around input lag (1.95 of 5)

  • Synced it up - works flawlessly, no input lag, felt natural and great
  • This control requires 3rd party software (only wireless controller I own that does)It just causes massive spasms in my games, randomly throwing my steering or aim to the left and right, the right bumpers don't work, this controller has severe input lag, up to a 1/2second
  • However, after only 3 months, the controller is not as accurate or as fast as it used to be, that is why I'm getting the warrantee this time
  • I've used this on my Samsung tablet when playing emulators it's very nice, comfortable, and comparable to current gen console controllers and no noticeable input lag
  • The final straw, though, was that the analog shoulder buttons would sometimes not work at all, sometimes work as if the maximum was set to 30%

Reviews around connection issue (1.54 of 5)

  • Loved it until it broke, when it did break i opened it up and saw whoever soddered the wires on didnt do a very good job
  • The connection issue would occur every 20 - 30 minutes or so and caused many angry deaths in my new favorite game Dead Cells.
  • Very high quality build, and no compatibility or connection issues after over a month of use
  • Short Version: Works OK, but found to be laggy in Windows 10, connection issues, and stuck buttons
  • Mine used to have connection issues, triggers not working and noticeable lag when pressing the buttons

Reviews around pc (1.54 of 5)

  • have a overly expensive pc with an overly expensive bluetooth card especially for gaming and this controller simply does not work
  • The only problem I had was with using it on a windows 10 pc
  • You are better off getting a cheap 10 dollar PC controller from a no name brand then spending the money on this for a PC.
  • until there is an update that fixes the latency problem it's almost unusable on a Windows 10 PC.
  • My wife prefers the Xbox One controller for most games on our windows 10 PC

Reviews around window (1.44 of 5)

  • Loved it until it broke, when it did break i opened it up and saw whoever soddered the wires on didnt do a very good job
  • It came with bluetooth software that bugs out windows 10
  • works great for android , doesn't support windows 10 even though it was advertised to support it
  • Miss their window (e.g. you can't take off work to go insure a controller) and you've lost both your hardware
  • I like the D

Reviews around zone (1.00 of 5)

  • I had to set the dead zone for the triggers very high or it would randomly activate the triggers without me even having my fingers on them.
  • I also noted you can control the dead zone on triggers also from the steel series
  • I have increased the dead zone on the triggers to 10%+ using the company's
  • Triggers when not pressed show that right trigger is pressed a little, changing dead zone does not help
  • I would have to set the dead zone on the triggers to upwards of 40% or the controller would always think that one of the triggers was being pressed
