  • My son loves it and he says that it's very interesting that you get to build your own stage!
  • My Son Really Loves This Cool Game for His Portable Game Devise [ Wii U
  • My 8 year old son loves this, as well as my adult friends
  • But that being said, I do find it hard to limit my son and occasionally myself on the game.

Reviews around maker (4.70 of 5)

  • In Super Mario Maker, you can create Super Mario Bros. levels
  • I would recommend Super Mario Maker to video game lovers of all ages.
  • I kind of think, upon completing a level, the player should actually rate the course from 0 to 5 stars or something, and if you follow a maker, that should automatically award that maker a number of stars
  • They've done an exceptional job of packing fun little secrets everywhere, from the title menu (go on, press all the letters of the SUPER MARIO MAKER title) to using the eraser near Mario (he shakes as if he's scared...which is fair.
  • However, I think this game could be even better if there were some improvements, such as: a search function for community created levels based on their titles, an ability to 'note' certain levels to play at a later time, a full set of gameplay elements (as others have noted, quite a few are missing as of September 2015), the ability to create accomplishments for one's levels based upon such things as finding all hidden blocks, getting all 1ups, getting at least a certain score etc., perhaps the ability to add story elements, perhaps 'leaderboards' for each level, showing top scores and / or top accomplishments for that level's top players...

  • The easy to use tools all work well, but I am not a game designer and relied on the highlightedcommunity levels
  • Any game that encourages creative thinking and collaboration is a great tool.
  • It is fun for him to play and a great teaching tool as well.
  • Pros:- Great building tools for Mario levels.- Hours of

Reviews around nintendo (4.43 of 5)

  • This is the best love letter Nintendo could write for the 30th anniversary of Super Mario Bros!
  • My daughter loves games like 'Super Mario 3D World', but struggled to really get into the old school side-scrolling classic Nintendo games
  • Now it just looks like Nintendo just barfed up the past versions of Mario into one game
  • That, ladies and gentleman, is basically what Nintendo has unleashed on us with Super Mario Maker.
  • Nintendo has ruined the best game ever.

Reviews around grandson (4.30 of 5)

  • Import?-----------------------------------Yes, With Super Mario Maker, the levels you create, you can import to allow other people to download and play, as well as be part of the 100 Mario Challenge
  • My grandsons are crazy over this fascinating Mario Bros. Game
  • Fun to create levels with my kid, then instantly play & share them with the rest of the family near and far, as well as with the Mario Maker community
  • They've done an exceptional job of packing fun little secrets everywhere, from the title menu (go on, press all the letters of the SUPER MARIO MAKER title) to using the eraser near Mario (he shakes as if he's scared...which is fair.
  • I don't understand why everyone loves this game as much as they do

Reviews around idea (4.10 of 5)

  • I do also want to point out that the digital download is nearly the same price as the physical game, but the physical game comes with a really cool idea booklet that has not just ideas, but game concept and design pages from previous Mario Games
  • So if you love the idea of creating your own Super Mario levels, love the idea of playing levels created by other gamers whether they be good or bad, running through 100 course challenges to unlock items, and can spend hours detailing out by trial and error a level design, then this game will satisfy all those desires.
  • Mario Maker is a pretty great idea and fun to tinker around on.
  • They also had all kind of crazy ideas that aren't done in a normal game with funny sound effects and homage to the SNES Mario Paint

Reviews around way (4.09 of 5)

  • I could not think of a better way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Super Mario than Super Mario Maker!
  • I mean if you think about it, it would be a great way to end the series
  • The level creation is addictive and unlike some I actually really appreciate the way the game slowly feeds you more gameplay elements over time instead of dumping everything on you at the beginning
  • Complaints: no way to use the characters of different games (like raccoon Mario in Wii U rendering); no map building for full game construction; most of the downloadable user-designed levels are awfulPositives: this is the dream of Super Mario fans since the earliest releases
  • What an innovative and fun way to expand the Mario brand.

Reviews around level (3.34 of 5)

  • The game itself is fun as you would expect, but there there is really no 'reason' to play the community made stuff unless you like uber hard stuff or auto-complete levels.
  • That's not to say you won't run into ridiculously hard levels.
  • The levels that Nintendo has added to the game feel more like a demo of what you can do in the Course Maker rather than a traditional, enjoyable Mario game level
  • -2ACCPS: If you worry about encountering one too many stupidly hard levels, do yourself a favor and play the 100 Mario Challenge on NORMAL difficulty
  • Both my son and I like creating levels and playing other people's levels

Reviews around power (2.33 of 5)

  • Break the conventions of traditional Super Mario gameplay by blending enemies, traps and items into unexpected twists, like Piranha Plant-shooting cannons, power-up-tossing Lakitus, or even Hammer Bros. riding on Bowser while bouncing on
  • (e.g., power-ups, level templates like deserts and beaches, enemies, and boss fights) and fewer limitations (e.g., mystery mushroom available to all styles, level-end style options, and pipe-destination variation
  • Lacks some major power-ups (like the suits from Mario 3 and different colored Yoshis from Super Mario World for example
  • Very limited number of features you can use when making levels: enemies, power ups (only mushroom, flight, and fire), level templates (i.e., the backgrounds force you to end each level the same way, use pipes only certain ways, etc.), and so on are all far too
  • The anniversary Mario amiibos in particular give you super block busting Goomba squashing Koopa Troopa crushing power

Reviews around brick (1.00 of 5)

  • This Mario dud can also break bricks with his head, and eat mushrooms to become taller
  • I find myself spending anywhere from 1-1.5 hours building a well-though out "this-is-what-Nintendo-would-do" levels, only to play some hack's level called "Follow the Shell," whereas you are supposed to keep up on the level at the speed a shell on a platform above you is traveling only to reach the end, losing the shell along the way, and end up stuck because the shell was supposed to break a brick at the end that allowed you to reach the flagpole exit
