when you say 12v convertor that fine i have been wonting to put this lights in my boat i bout the led controller with the 44 color changing remote put i cant hook it to a 12v

For a car, I'd recommend a rf controller instead of ir because ir requires line of sight, and the controller doesn't look as pretty as the lights

Decent LEDs, with a fairly bright output, but not really any different from any of the other SMD5050 strips out there......EXCEPT when it comes to quality control.

The leds get very hot if you leave them on for a while and it could be a hazard..as of anything, be careful.

Led strip tore, led string would be half one color and half another after barely stressing the strip.

I like the lights, they're bright great colors however just know that you're going to have to get your own adhesive

love these lights ,love the colors , works great with the RF controller will buy more lights.

Some of the strip would be the color that I set it to and the rest would be a wrong color

The colors have started to bleed through and sometimes when I have it set to one color a few leds are still shinning a different color

The lights are good and they're pretty sturdy/durable, but because of that they're somewhat heavy, and the adhesive isn't always strong enough to fully hold them on some surfaces

The adhesive on the back is not very good, but if you use zip ties to mount, you'll be fine.

Even the power supply/transformer falls out of the power source without taping it.

Update: I bought another complete set, and it turns out the (other brand's) power supply went bad.

I used my power supply from other lights and it works very good

I had some trouble finding a power supply around my house since these didn't come with one.

The power supply died after a month on my friends front porch

The pin connectors do not fit tightly, so if using more than one set, tie the connectors together or use a little electrical tape to secure the connection

Eventually over time moisture does get into the strip and corrodes connections.

If the connection hadn't gone bad I would have given them 5 stars.

If I buy these again I'll buy multiple sets and use the 2 prewired ends for a good connection.

Crappy connections, shorts and doesn't work all that well

the good parts of bad strings of LEDs are soldered together to make up the string and they simply fall apart

Only complaint I would have is ordered these twice now and both the ir control boxes that I received didn't work due to a bad soldering job

The remote unit ir receiver is very delicate, be gentle with it so the wires dont break or the solder let loose.

You have to either suck the solder or cut it again shorter.- when you try soldering the material it burns and gets all nasty
