I'm not sure if it's the heat or just the durability that causes them to snap but long term, I wouldn't recomend this mount.

My mount is now basically useless and I wouldn't buy again.

I've had another tgat was a similar mounting style & the suction piece broke off, this one feels like the plastic is better quality & I hope that wont happen with this one.

Come to find out the suction cup had completely broken off from the mount rendering the entire mount useless moving forward.

I wasn't able to put it back together and had to trash the mount.

The sticky one would work best on a windshield, but the angle of the glass and the dash on my car don't allow that, so the vent mount gets my vote and my amended rating

This is a great car mount, I bought it for a cross country move 6 months ago and have been using it ever since

The materials & construction are robust; all mounts will shake/vibrate to some degree, but with this one I find the levels of shake/vibration under load are low & entirely acceptable

It looks good, takes up little space, doesn't block my windshield like a window mount, doesn't block my buttons and knobs like a CD mount, doesn't block my vent like a vent mount
