Love the DUAL recording feature - for when recording level is set too high, or to get both loud & quiet songs in show
I love the overdub feature; before getting this recorder, I had no way to compile track upon track.
The most exciting feature is the ability to accomplish 4-channel recording by using the mic input and the line inputat the same time
Really happy with my DR-2d, all the advertised features work without any caveats, it's a nice design, easy to use, relatively compact, good sound, good feature set
This is a great feature that's probably unique to this model
Really happy with my DR-2d, all the advertised features work without any caveats, it's a nice design, easy to use, relatively compact, good sound, good feature set
Clean sound, easy to use interface, solid construction, easy navigation
All the recorders I used (Zoom H2, Tascam DR-05 and this) record my harp with clean sound, but at very low level (with mid to high mic gain even)
But if you treat it in a reasonable manner, it will reward you with great sound and reliable operation in return.

The little rubber feet on the back are a nice touch as they give a firm grip on a desktop when connecting to a PC.The only issue I have is I have to turn the gain right up for very quiet recordings (e.g. clock ticks) and this produces noise in the recoding, not really a failing of this unit
However, a few months after making some amazing outdoor recordings of marching bands and other events this recorder started to stop recording after a few seconds and revert to pause.
, I think I just need to source a good external mic for really quiet recordings.
I got this to record my buddy's band and it blew my mind how good and clean the recordings have come out

I loved the simplicity of the DR-05, but given that the internal mic of this one is better, I preferred the DR-2D.The buttons of the DR-2D are tiny, but I got used to them
The mic plug-in works very well, although I don't need it unless I want to run the mic through a distortion pad or a drive-capable amp for artificial effects.

As a musician who needs an open working environment and creative control but is not fluent in Recording Arts jargon, I am more than satisfied with my purchase.
The controls are easy to understand and operate, and the user guide is well-done.

A fine recorder and the dual recording feature works well on microphone inputs -- a great way to record at a good level and still insure you will not distort.
A fine recorder and the dual recording feature works well on microphone inputs -- a great way to record at a good level and still insure you will not distort.
The metronome, the ability to change the speed without altering the pitch, the ability to add reverb (albeit in a crude way) during recording or playback, the provision for plugging in an external microphone, dual-recording level operation, and wireless remote are all great attributes for the musician on a tight budget.
Mic sensitivity and volume have dedicated buttons on the side that sometimes I like, sometimes I prefer the DR-05 way
I doubt the problem is specific to mine as others have reported battery issues
V1.02 Firmware appears to have fixed the NiMH battery issue
No battery issues after updating the firmware, which is also easy to do, the file and instructions are given on the website.

A new dual recording feature records a copy of your audio at a lower level, so if the level suddenly jumps you have a backup instead of a distorted performance
Record using the new built-in condenser microphones or plug in your own.
