I was under the impression that the balance of sound would be better than it is.

The sound quality is surprising, well-balanced and vivid

As far as the sound goes, the bass is strong, tight, clean and well balanced

I really was shocked at how crisp my music sounded and how well balanced the sound is

They actually do have an admirably clear and linear response curve suitable, I think, even for studio mixing work

So, it is critical to be able to know how much such uneven responses affect perception of their sound with respect to accuracy and neutrality

One may say we can use EQ to remedy irregular frequency responses

I was surprised by the sound quality because of the inexpensive price

My husband uses them an when he has them on i can be yelling at him a foot away and he cant hear me.. which can be good and bad for the wife (; but great sound quality and sound blocker the such a cheap price

I would not recommend these to someone who has even average hearing, and enjoys music

, you really enjoy the music, hear instruments clearly and it is true that tones are well defined ("crisp highs... deep bass" blah blah), soundstage is good as well (you can "locate" sounds in different "locations" of your hearing "space")

Im a jazz listener and thats a difficult music to reproduce

so read many reviews as possible to buy a good product a good price

I can live with it through audio balancing on my PC, but I mean... it's an defective product

I have now used these headphones on a couple of shoots and I noticed that these headphones (or more specifically, the long unshielded cable) induce a noise in my recordings.

I crushed the cable of my beloved Grado SR60i phones in the armrest of my chair, making them functionless

This is a phenomenal pair of headphones, particularly for the price.

so when you twisted in the 3.5mm jack in whatever you plugged it into you would hear awful noise

They have a V-shaped sound signature and isolate noise well

I got a really strange crackling noise when used with my iPhone 6

One of them has a creepy noise when connected to my audio interface which is 6 meters far away from the vocal booth!

Granted, this is partially the fault of the recorder for not rejecting headphones noise in the circuitry, but it's a huge minus nonetheless.

However, I'd have to say that the earpads are pretty uncomfortable

The earpads are shallow and hurt to put on your ears for more than 15 seconds but I replaced them with the spare pair of HM5 pads that came with my XPT100s

The earpads are relatively hard and are probably not suited for listening for more than an hour or so

The other thing I didn't like were the earpads

One major negative point against these cans is the earpads are rather hard and uncomfortable
