This pedal has several types of reverbs on it, the ones I prefer more is the old school Classic Spring Reverb (Awesome for Harmonica
I won't run through them all, but you can go from a classic spring or plate reverb, to a short, small room reverb on the tile setting, to a long, big room reverb using the church setting
There is a setting called "Reverb" by a French sound gadget design firm that is a great spring reverb.
You can get really any kind of reverb that you'd want, from the classic "spring" to very ambient sounds through the "cathedral" or" mod" settings
In fact, I think the Holy Grail is the best reverb pedal out there if you're looking for the best spring reverb
In the end, the grail was cheaper, simpler and sounded more like a real reverb tank to me.
(not unlike reverb on a fender amp!)The TC pedal did sound nice, but to my ears slightly less “airy” by comparison to the Holy Grail
" so I narrowed my choice down to the EHX holy grail or the hall of fame
In fact, I think the Holy Grail is the best reverb pedal out there if you're looking for the best spring reverb
After I decided to move to individual pedals and since my amp doesn't have quality reverb; I was in between this and the holy grail plus, that some of my friends have
It can be used to thicken your sound into huge, ringing, cavernous-type, dark sounds, or it can be a brighter, shimmer type reverb
But I discovered that this little pedal can give you greats sounds
Great pedal, has amazing tones and is easy to use, only problem is it makes a pretty loud popping sound when you switch it off, not too loud to really make a noticeable
It's probably a sin to practice with great sounding reverb, but I play longer when I sound good so what the heck!
I think this pedal does a really great job of recreating that sound for me
I really like this pedal as it offers many options in tonal shaping as well as many different tones of reverb (10 to be exact).
Does everything a top notch reverb pedal should - great options and tones
Versatile, excellent tone, you can get the whole spectrum of reverb effects from this ranging from a slight echo to a cavernous roar to match the ocean
I love the "hall" setting on a clean tone thru the neck pick up of my les paul (amp is a mesa mini rec that I bought before they released a model with reverb built in)
I learned that putting digital effects in the same loop as analog effects can suck your tone and provide undesired results
This is one of the best sound reverbs I have ever heard
I can only see myself using this with my own tone prints for super long weird reverbs... but for an always on pedal I'll stick to the Polara, I can't believe such a dark reverb is rated so high, I mean, I'm trying to play and makes everything in my studio rattle... which is kinda hard to achieve
So I started reviewing reverb pedals and at the top of most lists were this one and the various Holy Grail reverbs from Electro-Harmonix
The other reverbs on the HoF are actually good unlike the HG that has 3 good ones and flurb
For other uses I did however experiment extensively with this pedal, and I only found 2 usable reverbs for my acoustic instrument, and even then I struggled to find a organic life-like reverb sound
I'm 50 now, there was time I scoffed at people for adding reverb/ruining the raw pure dynamic response of a Marshall, but new venues where there's no wall of sound to cut through anymore, I've found it to be a great tool for sounding good and softening up the tone in intimate blues settings
The reverb settings are perfect for my worship team and the toneprint function works just as advertised; maybe simpler.
n’t muddy up the signal
Love the settings some others come up with on pedals with more features that still sound the same using this pedal.
