Reviews around steel (4.45 of 5)

  • Stainless steel looked dull and discolored after just a few uses
  • I don't know what the health implications are for drinking water from a rusted "stainless steel" receptacle, but will be in touch with the maker
  • The tea kettle is stainless steel and very easy to clean.
  • The kettle itself is heavy and substantial stainless steel - not flimsy or cheap.
  • As a surgeon I appreciate good surgical stainless steel

Reviews around handle (4.32 of 5)

  • it boils fast because of the large bottom surface-area, the handle is high enough that you can pick it up bare-handed, and the whistle/spout is easy to operate
  • 2 rust spots forming after 2 weeks of use and also the handle to pull off the top to fill with water has now broken
  • The handle does not get hot, which was an issue we were having with our old one.
  • Can be a little tricky to pour when the handle gets hot.
  • But you cannot touch the handle without a hotpad or you burn your fingers.

Reviews around pot (4.12 of 5)

  • I recently moved and my new house has an Induction stove top and this was one of the few items that I could use before I bought new pots and pans (it's magnetic).
  • I had a fancy Mackenzie childs tea pot from my wedding and was over that style
  • Well it heats water more quickly than an open topped pot for French press or tea or whatever
  • I literally burned the pot and melted all of the plastic parts
  • Finally, because of the inner copper layer, the pot holds heat well, and even an hour later the water is warm enough for a second cup of tea or coffee

Reviews around teapot (4.09 of 5)

  • The ceramic teapots will not work with my ceramic stove and this will work well for all hot water needs.
  • This teapot looks beautiful on my cooktop and functions well.
  • The teapot heats water quickly - which I also appreciate
  • Love this teapot; quality, looks and doesn't pour water all over when I pour my tea
  • I love this teapot and the infuser was an awesome touch

Reviews around tea (3.99 of 5)

  • The loose leaf tea strainer was not included in the packaging even though they advertise it as such
  • I was excited about this because I wanted a great quality tea kettle
  • Great tea kettle and beautiful at the same time.!I'm a happy customer!
  • but it's a very loud tea kettle as soon as you turn it on
  • I already had a nice loose leaf tea infuser, but it was still nice getting an extra one with this kettle as now I can do 2 cups at once using loose leaf tea as opposed to doing one cup at a time

Reviews around design (3.97 of 5)

  • donot full too much water! and not whisting, Very bad design.
  • This particular tea kettle -- with its shiny luster and beautiful design -- is exactly what I have been looking for
  • I couldn’t send this poorly designed piece of junk back fast enough
  • They either sent me a used unit or this is a horrible design flaw.
  • Beautiful design and heats up very quickly- mush faster than our old stainless steel kettle

Reviews around quality (3.90 of 5)

  • I was excited about this because I wanted a great quality tea kettle
  • Very good quality excellent finish a little heavy because of thicker metal.
  • January 2020:One of the poorest quality product I have ever purchased from Amazon
  • Rivets on the spout and trigger are extremely poor quality, and are destined to fail very soon
  • Looks good but quality is questionable, returned it the next day.

Reviews around product (3.80 of 5)

  • This product is really easy to use, and it heats water up quickly
  • January 2020:One of the poorest quality product I have ever purchased from Amazon
  • Great product but turned different colors almost immediately
  • Great product handle needs more insulation from Hearn, sometime to hot to handle.

Reviews around water boil (2.54 of 5)

  • My primary desire when I bought this tea kettle was that the whistle alerts me when the water boils.
  • Water boiled keeps its heat for quite a while thanks to the thick metal base
  • The big base at the bottom allows maximum heat transfer from stove, so water boils quickly.
  • The W&E is well constructed, a good quality stainless, maybe even better than the Alessi.
  • I was looking for a water boil kettle that was large enough at the base to cover the gas flame of the stovetop, and it is,

Reviews around inside (2.54 of 5)

  • I like my mornings quiet and peaceful
  • This kettle gets extremely hot even with following the manufacturers instructions, the inside is difficult to clean, and we cleaned the kettle almost every 2-3 days and rust still set in, poor design, not stainless steel
  • This kettle gets extremely hot even with following the manufacturers instructions, the inside is difficult to clean, and we cleaned the kettle almost every 2-3 days and rust still set in, poor design, not stainless steel
  • Overall it holds up, but the inside is rusting pretty quickly and it doesn't get off when cleaned
  • The W&E is well constructed, a good quality stainless, maybe even better than the Alessi.

Reviews around steam (2.40 of 5)

  • The kettle seems to be poorly constructed and leaks steam from just about every opening, except the whistle, which makes the whistle barely audible
  • It just leaks hot steam and water from the lid and very little or no whistle.
  • n’t hear it long enough to know my water is boilingVery disappointing!
  • Highly recommend!EDIT - I have now owned this tea kettle for a year, and I love it just as much as I did when I first bought it!
  • Steam leaks from one side of the kettle top and therefore the whistle looses its strength

Reviews around leaf (2.33 of 5)

  • Favorite tea pot, I use it and the loose leaf steeper regularily
  • The loose leaf tea strainer was not included in the packaging even though they advertise it as such
  • Highly recommend A+++
  • And the loose leaf tea infuser is a nice little bonus, even if you already own one
  • This kettle also includes a premium tea infuser for loose leaf tea that you can drop right into your tea cup/glass

Reviews around lid (2.31 of 5)

  • I checked it a few time to ensure the lid was secure and it was on properly
  • Sometimes the top lid doesn't close, because it's a little difficult to put back on, and when that happens, there is boil spittle coming out of the lid
  • I've burned my fingers a bit trying to remove the difficult lid, while hot.4
  • The top lid does not seal well, so some steam leaks from the lid; the pot has a nice trigger to hold open the cap, but it does not lock open — no big deal; QUITE OBNOXIOUS, the seller will not give you a care guide unless you send them your cell phone AND email — pathetic for this price!
  • When I poured it the lid fell off and the steam burnt my hand horribly

Reviews around finger (2.09 of 5)

  • But you cannot touch the handle without a hotpad or you burn your fingers.
  • Unless you don't mind burning your fingers on the handle
  • The W&E is well constructed, a good quality stainless, maybe even better than the Alessi.
  • The squeeze handle allows easy pouring without burning any fingers
  • No rust!Wish there was an easier way to take the hot lid off without it popping out and burning fingers.

  • The W&E is well constructed, a good quality stainless, maybe even better than the Alessi.
  • The kettle I received for $38 is cheap junk and is obviously being returned.
  • n’t hear it long enough to know my water is boilingVery disappointing!
  • n’t sound like a train
  • Not going to go through the tedious return process again - just chalking this up as a total loss

Reviews around noise (1.69 of 5)

  • Overall, I would not buy this kettle again due to the excessive noise.
  • It was stressful noise: not a pleasant way to start the day
  • As soon as heat was applied, it startled making loud cackling and popping noises, like I was making popcorn
  • The kettle had something which made a rattling noise in the base which couldn’t be removed
  • The W&E is well constructed, a good quality stainless, maybe even better than the Alessi.
