The lid just... falls off, into the sink.

Besides the carafe (which does have a detachable lid) there is the lid to the water reservoir, the coffeemaker grounds

And, if that is not enough to make one want his $300 back, the lid on the water reservoir is also cracked.

There are two flimsy plastic lids you put on

The carafe lid falls off if you turn it upside down in the sink to rinse the carafe.

Now l get excited about buying fresh roasted beans to grind and brew the best, most flavorful coffee l've ever drank

No need for the bigger version (and I obsess about having enough)This maker elevates coffee, makes okay coffee good and good coffee great

Other wise i just paid a lot of money for hot water.
