Teenage Engineering TE010AS014 PO-14 Sub Bass Synthesizer & Sequencer
Size:PO-14
Small enough to fit in your pocket and powered by a pair of AA batteries, the Teenage Engineering PO-14 Sub Bass Synthesizer features multiple real synthesizer engines including FM, subtractive synthesis, wave table, and physically model...
I'm enjoying the Pocket Operators so much that picking the full size OP-1 is definitely looking like a possibility...
The Pocket Operators look like toys, but have some very intelligently implemented features that allow you to get creative in a hurry
- Pocket Operators have no MIDI capabilities and only a limited range of available notes.
However, external audio signals through the Pocket Operators seem much muted, but the "sync" works like a champ! The Pocket Operators “sync” well with Korg's Volcas, but the Volca synchronization pulse is constant.

15 unique bass sounds and a micro-drum machine all wrapped into this little portable synth
The sounds are fun, very electronic-y and demonstrate the attributes of various type of synthesis.
As I said, I hooked this up with the PO-28 Robot and used the Robot as a lead synth
A fantastic little groove synth due to its simplicity and inherent limitations( locked to C maj, but don't let that put you off, it actually does inspire creativity).

As an actual musician, meaning I actually play guitar, piano, etc... I prefer totally interactive instruments...meaning I am not a 'mouse clicking' musician, and I am totally satisfied with this little synth
The addition of drum sounds makes the PO-14 a great little groovebox-style instrument.

I would say that Volca Bass is capable of far richer (and more varied) bass notes, but it's also three times the price and is a very different kind of device.

Other Pocket Operators have bass, but this one is specifically tuned to make really awesome bass grooves

The sequencer is easy to programme and once you get the feel of creating, erasing, and modifying sequences the operation is the same on all the PO units
Fun sound and interface but actual sequencer is broken

More about Teenage Engineering TE010AS014 PO-14 Sub Bass Synthesizer & Sequencer
Size:PO-14
Small enough to fit in your pocket and powered by a pair of AA batteries, the Teenage Engineering PO-14 Sub Bass Synthesizer features multiple real synthesizer engines including FM, subtractive synthesis, wave table, and physically modeled strings with 16 punch-in effects including delay, bit crusher, and filters
It also includes 16 punch-in bass oriented playing styles
The punch-in play styles are a quick way to create melodies
The concept is to minimize the effort of entering a complete series of notes in a sequence by simply adding one or a few notes and then allowing the punch-in function to fill in variations of the notes that follow
The synthesizer parameters can be locked while an auto compressor and hardware limiter ensure adequate signal generation without clipping
A 16-step sequencer features 16 available patterns and up to 16 patterns can be chained together
An integrated clock and alarm clock expands the creative possibilities of the instrument
A jam sync function with 3.5mm audio in and out connections allows for multiple synthesizer units to be linked together
Using high quality components with low power consumption, the synthesizer is cleverly designed with a Silabs EFM 32 Gecko CPU, a Cirrus Logic DAC, and a Knowles speaker placed under a novel animated LCD on a single circuit board
A fold out stand makes it easier to play and rear panel speaker solder terminals allow you hook up the unit to a larger sound system
An optional tailor made silicone pro case (sold separately) adds anti-sleep feet, battery protection, and professional feel buttons to this very unique music making device.
