  • This is a nice solid, well-crafted instrument, and not just a cheaply made plywood box like some others I've seen out there.
  • Amazing instrument!

Reviews around tone (3.86 of 5)

  • This is something to note though; if you like a super raspy bass tone, this one doesn't have that.
  • Bought as a Christmas gift for my husband, high quality, looks beautiful, and has great tone
  • Great tone on each side snare or traditional and looks as good as it sounds with a free carrying case
  • The Peruvian side, which has no strings/ no rapsiness, has a nice clean woody tone for that traditional Peruvian sound.
  • My brother's Meinl has that going for it: a really loose, raspy bass tone.

Reviews around bass (3.86 of 5)

  • This is something to note though; if you like a super raspy bass tone, this one doesn't have that.
  • I wasn't sure how much I liked that at first; I found that after playing it a bit, I can hit the bass just a little higher and get a little bit of rapsiness on the bass tone, which I like for some songs.
  • I also really do like having the option of a clean bass sound.
  • My brother's Meinl has that going for it: a really loose, raspy bass tone.
  • It has a nice deep bass, which is a little bit unique in that even on this raspy side, the bass tone is almost completely clean; in other words, it has almost no raspiness when hit low on the cajon.

More about A Tempo Percussion Dos Voces (Two Voices) Cajon with Free Gig Bag

  • The Dos Voces Cajon is made in Peru, considered by most to be the birthplace of the cajon as an instrument
  • It is called Dos Voces, or Two Voices, because of its dual playing surface design
  • By placing the sound port on the side of the cajon, we are able to offer a versatile instrument with a traditional, Peruvian playing surface on one side and a Flamenco playing surface on the other
  • Partially sealed and without snares, the traditional side offers the round, mellow tones and pure bass that has characterized Peruvian cajons for generations
  • Flip the cajon around and the player can draw out the more aggressive, modern sound of the snares common to the modern Flamenco-style cajons
  • The body of the Dos Voces Cajon is made from solid, furniture-grade panels of Mohena, with dovetail joints and a beautiful gloss finish
  • The playing surfaces are both multi-ply Spanish Cedar and Lupuna
  • Free gig bag included!
