If you aren't going to drop it, and you need a good graphing calculator, I would recommend this device

There are a few drawbacks with this excellent device: The calculator operates completely separately from the graphing; there doesn't seem to be a direct way to jump from calculating with a equation to graphing it (though you can copy/paste it and change the variables to those recognized by graphing); the theta character is annoyingly hidden in a menu with the pi key; warnings pop up on screen but are often hard to decipher; the graphing screen does wonderful analysis of function graphs but is much less good at analyzing polar, parametric, and vector displays

Where to start... this device feels more like a portable computer in your hands, what with the computation saving files, high resolution display, fast calculation speed, customization potential, touch-pad, and so much more

I have found the Nspire CX CAS to be an excellent device

Awesome device and has a ton of great features that make it easy to use.

My son (who I bought it for) actually is very impressed and LOVES it.

I see this as a great value, one of the best calculators on the market, and a good tool to have for any advanced level of math

But it has been a great tool for Algebra as I can use it to factor and figure out processes in ways that you can not do in the 84.

First off I would highly recommend purchasing the Guerrilla Screen Protector

any kind of fractions are numbers you want and makes life a lot easier and is one of the best purchases I have made.

Wonderful graphing calculator, more features than I could possibly use.

It is possible that add-on apps improve some of these details so that I can do polar and parametric area, arc length and volume rotations easily, or perhaps the features are already there and just hard to access.

Intuitive features were well organized and easy to learn.

That was before, however, I discovered how easily the LED display (not the glass, the display underneath) cracks

this is for my granddaughter going to high school very good equipment, I have used a graphing calculator when in electronics and this one is easier to use and has a better display.

Only one problem, no CD was shipped with product

The cost difference from store more than made up for fast shipping

It has a lot of great functions, especially if you are doing stats or calculus (and beyond)

Need time to learn and am still wondering how sin() function works since it returns a formula instead of a value

But the functions work very differently than a TI-84 models

I wish I had purchased it sooner when I was in Calc III, it would have been extremely helpful checking multivariable function integrations.

This can save LOADS of time of scrolling through the seemingly endless list of wonderful functions

Awesome calculator, I love the touch pad and the color screen

You will get many hours of use before you have to re-charge the battery and even when you do it is quick -- the calculator is also smart about conserving energy and it will dim the screen and then turn off if left to idle for a while

I had to replace my TI-89 and this has all the same features plus a ton more functionality and updated hardware like a touch pad and colored screen (especially useful for having multiple graphs up at the same time)

The screen is very easy to read and identify the graphs as well as the solutions

Compared to my TI-89 this is way easier to use, and thank goodness it has such a bright wonderful screen

There is a bit of a learning curve and I've barely begun to start utilizing a lot of its features but definitely worth it.

Helped a lot in calculus 2, I was able to easily do derivatives and not have to look at a formula sheet with all the rules each time

My son likes this a lot...so much that I may get to inherit his old one from Middle School.
