Let's start with the basics PROS and CONSPROS- Web swing: they really improved the web swinging mechanics
I have not played that game, but I know two things about it: it is open world, and it doesn't have realistic web swinging
The swinging and other changes to the controls are not easy to maneuver which makes it hard to move around to each event, and stay incognito when it counts.
For the first time in a Spider-Man game, swinging was realistic, as it had your webs attaching to buildings, and the physics engine did the rest.
This one is also open world and has realistic swinging again, which they nailed.
It has been years since I played a free roaming Spider-Man game (Spider-Man 3)
I didn't expect a GTA quality environment, but ASM 2's free roam world isn't even close
I actually checked my game cover one time while playing to ensure I wasn't playing an old PS2 game, because the graphics were well below subpar for what we all know the PS3 can produce - If you've ever played GTA, you understand what a true free roam world can be like
But if you enjoy free roam - this ugly looking cityscape isn't worth exploring.

Amazing Spider-Man 2 is not going to give Rocksteady a run for its money, nor will it attract non-Spidey fans, but if you're looking for a great Spider-Man experience then this is it.
If you ever hear anyone say how much they love the Amazing Spider-Man 2 Game, you can be sure they're saying they love the amazing "Spider-Man 2" game and not "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" game.
The countering and the stealth attacks work far more seamlessly than in the previous Amazing Spider-Man

Brining back to Gamestop to get an older game instead, maybe Shattered Dimensions (another spiderman game I never finished)Only reason I'm not beat red with anger is that I got two free tickets with the game when I picked it up, for the Amazing Spiderman 2 movie.
Being a die-hard spiderman fan I've played nearly all the games since the Playstation 1 and I've followed all the latest development news up until the release of this game
All in all TASM 2 is an average spiderman game that improves on what you saw in the first game but doesn't really add anything that you haven't already seen before in any of the other numerous open world spiderman games
Compared to the first Amazing Spiderman game, the controls on this game are a lot more choppy
Though it takes some getting used to as I found myself initially running into buildings a lot.-Improved combat system though it's not as fluid or polished as the Batman games that its inspired from.-TONS of comic book easter eggs and references for hardcore spidey fans to notice throughout the game.-Unlimited Random crimes in what is cleverly titled the "Hero or Menace" system-Ability to play as Peter Parker in certain segments where he will have dialogue options similar to Mass Effect-Unlockable costumes that you acquire from stealthily infiltrating gang hideouts-More distinctive/unique looking New York City with diverse neighborhoods that Spidey will comment on as he's
For me there is only one major complain here, but I'll get there in the CONS section.- Combat and webing: Still fun, with the same mechanics from last game
Combat is smashing the button fun
The combat is pretty fun, but at times the buttons are unresponsive, and in general the fighting is still not as smooth as what it was copied from
Having said all that, fortunately the gameplay and game mechanics are so damn good that you can just ignore the plot and still have fun, which is something that couldn't be said
The gameplay isn't terrible, however
Gets boring when you finish the game and you should be able to freeroam with peter parker not just in missons and the gameplay was good not greate but good
Overall, I think that the smooth gameplay and new abilities and features makes up for the story.

The feature where you have the option to stop crimes, while fun at first, quickly grows tiresome, because if you don't stop as many crimes as you possibly can, your "hero" status very rapidly drops to "menace" and the police will be after you, which is a real pain
These bugs, though, will ruin your fun.
