I'm not even a zelda fan and this is the best game I've ever played in my entire life.
This is one of the most complex and realistic games I have ever played and my favorite in the Zelda series
The best Zelda Game I've ever played, and very possibly the best game ever.
But still- if you find a really awesome weapon and it breaks (as they tend to do), there's no shop that will fix it, nor can you simply purchase a new one
This is the worst zelda game ive ever played, maybe the worst game even.
Breath of the Wild is a beautiful, pretty fun open world game.
However, the problem is that I was not interested in exploring given how monotonous the world looked, as if it was copied-and-pasted for long stretches, with the same green color, or the same white color in the snowy mountain areas
Breath of the Wild is a beautiful, pretty fun open world game.
The weather changes, the wild-life has a mind of its own, and the world will try to kill you in a multitude of ways.
The outdated graphics that are similar to the 1990s, significant framerate drops to the point where I thought the game crashed during a boss battle, lack of story and character portrayal, repetitive types of enemies (they are the same but reskinned), visually barren and empty world, weapon degradation, and frequent rain that prevents you from doing anything, all mar what could have been a great game
But still- if you find a really awesome weapon and it breaks (as they tend to do), there's no shop that will fix it, nor can you simply purchase a new one
As of writing this, I have freed all four of the divine beasts and found the Master Sword
Even though there werent any dungeons like previous games i did like the gaurdian quests of the 4 divine beasts
Not many dungeons, there is no variety in the final bosses; the divine beasts are very repetitive with the whole turning the beast sideways with the map, etc
I tend not to heal as it means having to find more ingredients for healing items.
On that list is Xenoblade and Xenoblade chronicles X, final fantasy 15 and 7 as well as fantasy life(the story of fantasy life was boring, but the gameplay was so fun.
Story isn't bad, but is just not as interesting as the world/environment deserves
This game is good by all means, good graphics, good story, gameplay, etc
Because I die in this game every five seconds! But than again, The story is awesome
The story is fun as always and this is worth it to any Zelda fanboy.
This time though I was blown away by the wonderful graphics.
No worries though I have vacation time to use up (;Anyways, the graphics to this game are really great and the world is huge
The graphics are to die for, the characters you meet along the way are memorable, the enemies are actually terrifying (which is something I haven't truly experienced in a Zelda game since Majora's Mask) and feel like a threat to the player, and the weapon & stamina system actually grew on me
it seems endless and the graphics are pretty good if your a Zelda fan I recommend 100%
No worries though I have vacation time to use up (;Anyways, the graphics to this game are really great and the world is huge
This game is amazing the graphics are excellent gameplay is really cool and fun
I've heard a lot of whining about the durability system, i.e. weapons and shields degrade and break as you use them
Has excellent gameplay that doesn't just rely on flashy graphics--but has those, too!
This game is good by all means, good graphics, good story, gameplay, etc
On that list is Xenoblade and Xenoblade chronicles X, final fantasy 15 and 7 as well as fantasy life(the story of fantasy life was boring, but the gameplay was so fun.
It's hard to really express how seamless the experience of adventuring really is in this game
It's still a great experience no matter what the graphics :)
But if you can overlook those things, this is a fantastic Zelda experience and one to remember.
Great game, sometimes will lag a little in few villages, but overall great experience.
My -1 star is due to the sluggishness of the the game, the degrade experience on the GamePad due to the low res screen, the load times, and the long pause between trying to capture a screen and accessing Miiverse
I can see why nintendo took their time with this, I'm just glad they kept their promise and released it on the Wii U
Third Negative: Lack of musicThere's almost no music to be had here, and the few tunes that are in the game are not very catchy or memorable
There are still vast lonely wastelands in between, but I came to appreciate the almost zen quality of their austere lonely nature, complete with haunting minimalist music
I'm glad I got it now for my Wii U instead of waiting until I could afford a Switch
A stunning masterpiece that runs smoother on the Wii u than the Switch
I honestly don't mind dealing with weapon durability, I do it in many other games; but those games give you blacksmiths or repair kits that you can use to keep your weapons going, and good gear doesn't disintegrate at the sight of a bad guy.
It's sad that Windwaker HD and Hyrule Warriors look amazing on the Wii U but this game suffers drastically from some bad graphics implementations
I can see why nintendo took their time with this, I'm just glad they kept their promise and released it on the Wii U
Added note: scanning amiibo is also easier on the Wii U
I'm glad I got it now for my Wii U instead of waiting until I could afford a Switch
Just like that game, Breath of the Wild has redefined gaming, combining elements of Zelda with the open world of Skyrim, and the fighting like Dark Souls (it's tough fighting enemies in the beginning)
It is pretty much a mix of Assassins Creed, Skyrim, Dark Souls, and Ocarina of Time
A little Skyrim, a little Dark Souls, a little Assassins Creed, and a lot of Zelda
The style feels reminiscent of Skyward Sword’s, which I also adored, but taken to the next level.
Enemies can easily kill you in this game; as Nintendo might have someone in their offices play some Dark Souls
Weapons and shields break easily but they add to the survival aspect of the game
I tend not to heal as it means having to find more ingredients for healing items.
But still- if you find a really awesome weapon and it breaks (as they tend to do), there's no shop that will fix it, nor can you simply purchase a new one
I've heard a lot of whining about the durability system, i.e. weapons and shields degrade and break as you use them
The good news is that the game does have music at times; and each track they have that you hear in the game is amazing...just not nearly as plentiful as in other Zelda games
The Breath of the Wild is by far one of the best Zelda games ever made; even rivaling games like Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past
The coolest move Link can pull off in this game is the flurry rush; when fighting an enemy close-up, if you dodge just in time, Link will do a dodge or backflip in slow-motion, and proceed by striking the enemy several times, ending them in the process.
The Breath of the Wild is by far one of the best Zelda games ever made; even rivaling games like Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past
It's easy to figure out how weak or strong your Link is
Every enemy you face, even the generic ones get very op and destroy link in seconds, six hearts would be
The game is entrancing, with the world being vast and vibrant, and a lot of small challenges and side-quests to overcome and acccomplish, without hurting the main, well versed story line of becoming the hero you were (meant to be)
It's a new(ish) feature in 3D adventure games that is gaining a lot of traction and for good reason
Because the game needs to remain difficult even after many of the shrines have been completed, enemies do a lot of damage
You've struck out a lot lately, but this game is a home run
The wide variety of different types of weaponry was also a lot of fun.
The game play forces you to think about how you would attack certain enemies or enter certain environments
It has an open world that you can get lost in, tons of secrets, enemies are actually smart and interesting to fight, the shrine puzzles are very fun, YOU have control over the difficulty, and DOGS
There is an enemy no more than a 5 minute walk from where you start that can kill you in two hits; and there are enemies that can one shot you scattered quite often throughout the map
The need to strategize before and during battles is essential, as there are many ways to defeat enemies and their outposts
It can be difficult to defeat powerful enemies early on but sometimes you can just dump bombs on Bokoblin camps until everything is ash
I've heard a lot of whining about the durability system, i.e. weapons and shields degrade and break as you use them
Thank you Nintendo for releasing this for the Wii U as well as for the Switch
When I started out, I hated how fast the weapons break, but it turns out it was a genius move, as it makes it rewarding every time you find a powerful and/or cool weapon
This game rewards ingenuity and physics are represented very well (as well as you can in a video game at least).
But still- if you find a really awesome weapon and it breaks (as they tend to do), there's no shop that will fix it, nor can you simply purchase a new one
After waiting what felt like ages for the new Zelda game... this game does not disappoint
If it does, then you as the developer have failed to make a good product!!!Ultimately this game falls short of a master piece, and left me disappointed
Early on can be a bit difficult as some enemies can one -hit kill you, but if you can defeat them, you can take their weapons.
, ironically)-If you try to 100% the game, it'll probably get a bit tedious as there are no temples, just 4 "dungeons" and 120 shrines which are 10 minute or so puzzles
story, graphics, the landscape and the controls are a bit tricky to get used to, not to mention that the content is really big
Pros- expansive, open overworld with lots to do- nice visuals- combat requires a bit of strategy, no more haphazard rushing into mobs and enemies, and usually more than a couple of ways to "skin the cat" there- cooking, haha- some diversity in enemies- convenient autosaveCons- mediocre dungeons and soundtrack- most puzzles are too simple- short main storyThere's also a 3GB download required to play, probably game content they couldn't stuff into the disc.
Even after getting acclimated to the controls, the landscape, and how to take on enemies, it still felt a bit... strange and foreign
