The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Wii U

    • For example, Guardians at first may kill you in one shot and be intimidating, but as soon as you find the easy way to destroy them, even early on in the game I found them to be of no threat unless multiple came into play
    • Featuring a vast open world and voiced cutscenes Breath of the Wild radically shifts the tried and true Zelda paradigm in glorious ways.
    • There is no "one right way" to do something
    • I was enchanted by the footage of Link cooking (which was adorable), by the potential to explore, the many different ways of killing enemies, interacting with the environment (shield surfing! playing baseball!), and the combat mechanics looked absolutely spectacular
    • Very fun either way.
    • Also addicting in a good way.
    • Because the game gives you so much option, there is no right or wrong way in approaching your task
    • Breath of the Wild is a wonderful way to end the Wii U’s lifecycle
    • ’s not an easy way to swap between weapons, you have to press menu and change manually.
    • Enemies are pretty strong throughout the game, so head-on fights are usually not the best way to go.
    • I personally like the visual style and think that it is the perfect intersection of art and realism and a clever way to get a lot out of 'underpowered' hardware
    • The game wants you to work your way into being the Hero of Hyrule
    • Overall it was a wonderful way to revitalize the Legend of Zelda franchise
    • If you love the unique way Video Games can entertain you then you really must play this
    • You’ll often stumble upon scenarios, particularly in the dungeons and shrines, that allow you to find your own clever ways of solving puzzles with these brilliant and fun mechanics.
    • There's also a strong and enjoyable crafting mechanic that acts as your primary way of regaining health and gaining power ups
    • Climbing will slowly eat up your stamina gauge, so it’s up to you to figure out how you want to approach it, and finding little footholds is always a good way to rest when you need to.
    • Instead, we're given a very interesting system in which everything is disposable and the player must maintain their "strength", which is a handy way to circumvent the lack of familiar versatility with more malleable traditions
    • Interesting variety of enemies that expand as you find your way out to new areas
    • Changes the formula of the game in a good way while keeping enough to be very familiar
    • There isn't a very reliable way to collect all korok seeds, without having to use or buy a guide
    • There is no wrong way to play - there are tons of options for all play styles
    • That followed by my first impression of a 20fps rate with frame drops was a horrible way to start a game
    • This game is SO different from every other Zelda I've played, but in the best way possible; it truly felt like I was exploring a gigantic world I had never seen before, and was totally free to go about it however I chose
    • It is hard but in a good way like that it will cause you to strategies and work hard but is not hard like skyward sword which is a Game I loved but had bad controls
    • You see a vast mountain range in the distance, and you can actually reach each peak of that range so long as you figure out how to work your way up there.
    • It's a new innovative way to experience the Legend of Zelda
    • No easy way to know what you can make with combined materials
    • Lots of creative ways to approach almost every situation
    • You want to bomb your way through the game
    • I am torn on whether I like the way it flows - almost to where you are not sure progress is being made - very much like real life.
    • I've heard a lot of whining about the durability system, i.e. weapons and shields degrade and break as you use them
    • But still- if you find a really awesome weapon and it breaks (as they tend to do), there's no shop that will fix it, nor can you simply purchase a new one
    • The good news is that the game does have music at times; and each track they have that you hear in the game is amazing...just not nearly as plentiful as in other Zelda games
    • I tend not to heal as it means having to find more ingredients for healing items.
    • Thank you Nintendo for releasing this for the Wii U as well as for the Switch
    • This game rewards ingenuity and physics are represented very well (as well as you can in a video game at least).
    • Not a sharp as on the switch but still just as good.
