The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Wii U

    • The outdated graphics that are similar to the 1990s, significant framerate drops to the point where I thought the game crashed during a boss battle, lack of story and character portrayal, repetitive types of enemies (they are the same but reskinned), visually barren and empty world, weapon degradation, and frequent rain that prevents you from doing anything, all mar what could have been a great game
    • Honestly, I really love the open world of this game, the main story, if you know what you're doing, can be finished in 7hrs roughly, but the world is huge and you can be lost for hours just exploring different places, it's really nice and relaxing (until you get attacked by a merchant in disguise or an enemy that you didn't notice that was there)No
    • The open-world minibosses, and frankly some larger hordes of normal enemies, all gave me tougher fights than the dungeon bosses did
    • Open world is Amazing
    • A lot of fun and the open world is very cool.
    • Breath of the Wild is a beautiful, pretty fun open world game.
    • The world is MASSIVE and I never seem to be bored just aimlessly traversing around this beautiful world.
    • Breath of the Wild is a beautiful, pretty fun open world game.
    • Complex, open worlds are great but Link should not have to spend so much time foraging, cooking food, replacing broken weapons, sitting out thunderstorms, and waiting for stamina to refill
    • The scope of the world rivals the open world space of games like Skyrim and The Witcher 3, and just like those two excellent games there's plenty to do
    • This is a pure open world rpg survival game.
    • This Zelda feel like a modern open world RPG, survival game
    • I was a bit skeptical when buying this because I just didn't feel like Nintendo could pull off an open world
    • Loves the open world and all the side quests
    • Lush landscapes, vibrant colors, gigantic expansive views all litter the world.
    • World of Warcraft is pretty easy in terms of quests and objectives
    • Occasional frame-rate issuesPros:Sublime ControlsPerfect, Flawless, and incredible GameplayMasterful Open-World ExplorationFreedom and personal choiceMechanics encourage experimentationFresh new dungeon designAmazing art directionBrilliant music and sound designGreat Voice ActingGreat Story and awesome charactersLots of replay valueTons of hidden secretsSense of reward after finishing every shrineHands down one of the greatest video games of all timeOverall
    • If you have never played an open world game in your life then maybe, but games like Witcher 3 are how you make a perfect open world game
    • And a beautiful world they did make
    • Nintendo has created a wonderful world and it is a shame not to explore it and immerse yourself in it.
    • If you enjoy Zelda and open-world games like Skyrim, this will be one of your favorite games of all time.
    • To me, the world feels dead
    • To keep this brief, this game is the best and most comprehensive open world gaming experience I've ever experienced so far.
    • Zelda games don't need this type of "realism" and it turns out to be just another frustrating mechanic that hinders your exploration of this beautiful world
    • Every great open world game should have you wanting to get distracted from the main objectives and explore... and this game accomplishes that to perfection
    • Good news there is a great big world out there to play in after or during.
    • I love the open world and the fact that there are side quests to follow.
    • I also think Nintendo had no clear idea of what makes open world games like Elder Scrolls fun
    • The world itself is very beautiful, and it feels well-populated
    • I have spent hours and hours wandering the scenic worlds.
    • The expansive open world setting and a great story make this one of the best Zelda games ever made
    • One of the worst things about Skyrim was the fact that it felt like the world was 90% bandits or zombies
    • The weather changes, the wild-life has a mind of its own, and the world will try to kill you in a multitude of ways.
    • Great open world, the battle system is adictive and fun, the story is good enough to keep you going
    • Complex, open worlds are great but Link should not have to spend so much time foraging, cooking food, replacing broken weapons, sitting out thunderstorms, and waiting for stamina to refill
    • It's great how lively this world feels
    • However, the problem is that I was not interested in exploring given how monotonous the world looked, as if it was copied-and-pasted for long stretches, with the same green color, or the same white color in the snowy mountain areas
    • This game is SO different from every other Zelda I've played, but in the best way possible; it truly felt like I was exploring a gigantic world I had never seen before, and was totally free to go about it however I chose
    • Other than that I am surprised at how well zelda works as an open world
    • Other than that I am surprised at how well zelda works as an open world
    • The result is that you have to take in this beautiful world through a lens of technical insufficiency, and the result, for me, has been a lack of immersion
    • The Good:-Open World
    • The world is breathtaking yet full of danger and surprises.
    • First of all this game got a TON of hype, and It was "okay".The world was beautiful, and massive
    • The world of Hyrule was impressive and vast but... to keep this light on spoilers, there's only a few dungeons and they aren't actually that important to the game
    • Great game, if you like your classic open world game with some survival elements thrown in
    • I spent a good 35-45 hours playing it and thoroughly enjoyed the open world
    • It is an amazing game and a massively huge world that is fun to explore
    • Easily a world you can get lost in for hours.
    • The graphics, animation, and even world made me loose my breath
    • It is an awesome world to explore with things that must be figured out and monsters you have to fight
    • The game draws in many concepts from open world adventure games like Skyrim and Fallout
    • and I've seen far better open worlds
    • I love the open world and hunting wild animals
    • It is a beautiful world to visit, but tedious game to play.
    • If someone in 2016 had told me that in 2017 a functionally perfect open world game would be released, I would have guessed Bethesda or maybe Bioware
    • The game itself is fun though a lot of its depth is faked in the terms of "explore the world just cuz", with the core experience being surprisingly short and shallow in terms of puzzle/dungeon complexity
    • The massive world is fun to explore, and feels like a place that's worth saving
    • But the barren empty world is just an absolute killer
    • It felt like the world was made so huge to pad the game time, because otherwise it would've been the shortest Zelda game yet
