    Toddy Cold Brew System

    • It's a bit awkward to
    • The filters that came with mine were almost just barely too large, and thus it was a bit difficult to get a filter in place without it bunching up on one side or wrinkling, but overall this was a minor difficulty.3
    • Mine broke after two weeks after I set it down on the counter, just a TINY bit harder than usual
    • My favorite is cold coffee-- i set it up according to VERY simple directions, let it sit in my sink, brewing, overnight (sometimes the little rubber stopper leaks a bit, so i just set it up with the carafe underneath or let it sit over the drain in the sink)
    • I will say I found the beginning recommended ratio of 1 part cold brew concentrate to 3 parts water/milk/soy to be a bit weak, but then I usually prefer my coffee a tad stronger
    • Occasionally I soak it for a few minutes in water with a couple of drops of grapefruit seed extract in it .After filling the carafe I put the Toddy on top of a coffee mug and let it drain a bit more.
    • It's a bit messy to brew, and it feels like you're wasting coffee (7 cups of water for a normal 12 oz bag of coffee), but you soon realize after a few runs that it all comes out even.
    • The process can be a bit messy and can be more than most people prefer to deal with
    • As a perfectionist-in-reform-training, I stressed a bit at first about the exact quantity of grind versus water, the coarseness of the grind, and exactly how long to let it sit and brew.
    • The cold brew system is a bit tedious, to brew and prepare a cup, but the fruits of that are well rewarded
    • It is a bit more expensive to make coffee this way.
    • You need to experiment a bit to come up with th correct concoction, but once you get it right, it's really great
    • The proportions for brewing are a bit tricky because you're dealing with wet vs dry ounces/
    • absolutely no bitterness or "bite"!
    • Freezing it seems to makes the coffee concentrate taste a bit weaker, but still good
    • Towards the end of the filter life it takes a little bit longer for all the coffee to drain out, but I don't mind
    • If you like the acid bite, then there is no reason to cold brew your coffee. :-)
    • The apparatus is a bit awkward and bulky but that has not been an impediment so far.
    • You get a little bit of grit at the end of the coffee if the grind is a bit
    • For about $30 you could get 6 filters (instead of 2) and the plastic top bit from Toddy's
    • A bit complicated to get stared, recommend reading the directions a few times.
    • This method also creates a flavorful tasting coffee without the acrid bite.
    • Had our Toddy for a few years now, and while we enjoyed the coffee it brewed, it has developed a small crack in the drain hole that causes it to leak (always brew somewhere you don't mind staining with coffee!!!)The process of removing the cork to drain the coffee is a bit cumbersome and always a little messy.
    • Only downside is the cork leaks a tiny bit
    • System is a bit large to store, but worth the purchase.
    • Some hard-core, coffee-syrup drinkers may miss the tell-tale bite of their morning Joe, but connoisseurs and rest of us will enjoy actually tasting the subtleties in flavor from different coffees that the Toddy provides.
    • It was a bit messy to grind half a bag of coffee at once (instructions call for a whole bag), but simple to mix the coffee and water
    • Fantastic - I love my toddy.
    • My only thing is that I had to double the recommended time for brewing as I like my coffee strong
    • The coffee isn't as strong as I norally like it, and more work then normal coffee.
    • when time to drain I have a mess
    • I can make each cup as weak or strong as I like
    • and I can have it as strong as I like.
    • Allow mixture to cool completely, then add 4T PURE vanilla extract (do not use imitation vanilla).Bottle and enjoy
