    • I made it with Starbucks Caramel flavored ground coffee and it came out tasting just like what you would get in the stores
    • I love the flavor of cold brew (it tastes the way coffee smells or like coffee ice cream), the fact that there is less acid in cold brew than regular coffee, and the ease of storing it in the fridge for summers.
    • but like a fine whiskey, strong, solid, magnificent aftertaste, no bitter flavors but rather a chocolate-like richness, with a touch a sweetness, but not sweet like sugar, sweet like lack of bitter tones
    • This takes out the bitterness and acidity and leaves delicious coffee flavor
    • instant coffee, and french press is the only type that comes close to the rich flavor

    • exactly - coffee was bitter, without body - did not have the full, rich flavor I get using a Mileta cone and brown paper filter.

    • Buy beans and use their grinder for really fresh flavor.
    • The flavor is pure and good enough to drink black.
    • The concentrate is great for making mocha lattes; mocha cakes, icing, and other goodies; adding to roasts for a lovely dark flavor; just a quick cup of coffee.
    • and you don't get enough flavor
    • I found that the brew in the refrigerator would get a really unpleasant flavor after about four days
    • Some tips I've learned: the bigger the grind size the better, 24 hours of soaking is what I've found creates the best flavor, and think about buying some extra filters when you order this because I had trouble finding them at the store.
    • Microwaving or HotShotting some water is as fast as the single-serve machines can provide with such a better flavor and at pennies on the dollar
    • This a great way to brew coffee it does take some getting used to and experimenting is needed to get the best flavor
    • As it needs to steep for 12-24 hours in the fridge, this gives it ample time to pick up all sorts of refrigerator smells which can taint the flavor of the coffee.

    • The flavor is outstanding.
    • and I never really liked the flavor it produces
    • It has a robust flavor, but yet is easy on the stomach because it produces a low-acid concentrate
    • It also works great in making a base for coffee BBQ sauce!Unfortunately, some of the more delicate flavors in fine coffee are not expressed well
    • Soaking the grinds overnight in cold water gives intense flavor without bitterness
    • I make a pot every week or two and the taste still has that fresh flavor.
    • I never would have expected such good flavor in coffee without the hot water brewing method.
    • It takes all the harsh oils out and leaves only the best flavor

    • I've read people say that the best flavor comes out of the stronger coffee, or more acidic, high mountain coffees.
    • I am no super taster, and I do not have the pretense to claim I am some type of coffee flavor expert, but the I feel the coffee concentrate this produces has a more nuanced, complex flavor I really enjoy.

    • None of them can compare!!Of course the coffee gourmets among the tasters at CI found this method to produce "kiddie coffee" since it lacked an acidic flavor
    • Another challenge I have with traditional coffee brewing is that I feel you have to brew a good size pot to get a good flavor
    • A truly smooth, rich flavored cup of coffee
    • I would be willing to bet that all the people that wrote off cold brewing for "bad flavor" or weakness messed up the grind or didn't start with good coffee.
    • I even made it without the filter by accident, and that's how I do it all the time now--the flavor seems a little more complex this way (after the coffee drips into the jug, I pour it thru a gold coffee filter--you could use a sieve-into another container to eliminate the grounds, then back into the Toddy jug for

    • I like my coffee strong and don't dilute the "extract" nearly as much as they recommend.
    • The parts for the system all last a long time (I've only had to buy replacement filters once in the past 3 years) and are easy to clean as long as you follow the directions (and using a coarse grind, as is specified in the directions is absolutely essential)
