The brewing container is pretty cheap plastic, otherwise I would rate it a 5.
-
It is specially shaped to hold the filter, but the cheap white plastic isn't really what you expect for a $30 product.3
-
The plastic top feels like the kind of cheap plastic you'd find in a bucket you picked up from Home Depot for $3 for carrying around kitchen scraps for compost
-
The bad part is that the plastic is so cheap
-
This is the first time I'm replacing it; company sent a free plastic reservoir a number of years ago when there was a leak.
-
I've never had a problem with the so called "flimsy" plastic pot.
-
cheap plastic filter holder.lousy filters
-
What really stands out is the THIN glass carafe, flimsy plastic handle, and no lid.
-
I'm not really sure why it even comes with a flimsy plastic handle that will inevitably break over time spilling your coffee all over like one reviewer wrote
-
Honestly, flimsy plastic.
-
The white handle is a separate piece (just a ring that goes around the top plastic bucket) and is seriously flimsy, if you fill the entire top part with water for a good and big brew, this handle is almost useless, kinda buckling in your hand under the weight of the water
-
It works great, but I think it is a little expensive for just flimsy plastic and glass
-
You don't have the change the top, but to compensate for the cheap plastic put in more filters or something.
-
The box contained the following items:1 white plastic container where the coffee will steep in water for 12-24 hours;1 white plastic handle for the aforementioned container;1 glass decanter for storing your brewed coffee;1 rubber lid for the glass decanter;1 rubber stopper for the bottom of your plastic container while brewing;3 filters
-
The system is not very attractive; the flimsy white plastic filter holder would have been better as Pyrex or ceramic.
-
With a French press, the steeping takes place in the glass carafe and the coffee never touches toxic plastic.

I open the package and all you get is a cheap plastic pitcher and a glass carafe
-
From the way the cone-shaped stopper fits precisely into the cone-shaped hole at the bottom of the hulking behemoth to create a perfect seal across the entire depth of the hole, to the ingenious plastic handle that seems to fit Toddy like a pair of pants that is two sizes too big in the waist and never stays on, this dude has it all
-
safe - the glass part it says is dishwasher safe, but the plastic says some places safe some places not
-
It has a huge reservoir to steep the coffee in, and a glass decanter with a soft plastic sealing lid to store in your fridge
-
Another note, don't push the stopper too hard otherwise you will break the plastic
-
The cheap plastic brew container has NO COVER and a FLIMSY STAND
-
This morning, after 5 years of steady use, the plastic ring broke when I picked it up full of coffee and grounds after a night of soaking.
-
Just don't push the rubber stopper in too far - it will split the plastic on the container.
-
Since I am doing this for my health, the plastic is a concern for me and this causes me to drink less coffee.
-
The problem is that it is not very durable and the bottom of the plastic bucket-like section cracked from use
-
As others have said, I'm disappointed that there's no lid on the unit and the plastic is very flimsy
-
Cheap plastic - filters don't fit well.
-
The top container is made of very cheap plastic and has no cover I have to put saran wrap over it.when you are ready to strain
-
However, it is cheap plastic, unstable on the counter and the filters clog too quickly
-
I worry about breaking the plastic when I insert the plug.
-
Anything less than 12 oz will cause the lower glass container to overflow when you drain the upper plastic "brew" container.3
-
I would like to see the plastic wring/handle be made of stronger plastic and/or be reinforced since it is clearly the weakest point in the whole system.
-
This thing is made of very poor quality glass and plastic and is a messy way to cold brew coffee
-
The system is made of a flimsy plastic brewing chamber and an extremely lightweight, thin glass carafe.
-
The white plastic top part is very flimsy, cheap and mine came with the bottom all scratched up and dirty.
-
Generally get about 10-15 brewings per filter (the filtering slows down as they're getting clogged) and coffee lasts me about a week per brewing.
-
My first brew didn't drain as well as it should have.
-
as strong as you want it to be.
-
I emailed the manufacturer, and they said the plastic is not made with BPA, and that is a great plus!I would recommend this to anyone, and have purchased this for many, as well as got additional decanters for myself!
-
I like my coffee strong and don't dilute the "extract" nearly as much as they recommend.
-
The parts for the system all last a long time (I've only had to buy replacement filters once in the past 3 years) and are easy to clean as long as you follow the directions (and using a coarse grind, as is specified in the directions is absolutely essential)
-
Allow mixture to cool completely, then add 4T PURE vanilla extract (do not use imitation vanilla).Bottle and enjoy
-
Fantastic - I love my toddy.
-
My only thing is that I had to double the recommended time for brewing as I like my coffee strong
-
The coffee isn't as strong as I norally like it, and more work then normal coffee.
-
when time to drain I have a mess
-
I can make each cup as weak or strong as I like
-
and I can have it as strong as I like.
-
so my particular recipe is 1/3 c concentrate, 1/3 c water, 1/3 c fat free Half n Half, 1 tbsp syrup (vanilla or organic maple), ice.
