Although…the manufacturer has assisted in making the device a modest source of frustration since a manual for this specific model is not yet available
I’m not all that enamored with user experience or display and as compared to Garmin products I find TomTom less intuitive (and absence of a valid manual doesn’t help) however, if you tinker with it for a while you cannot help but to concede it is one capable device

This unit impresses me as too heavy to trust to a window suction cup

Great screen that’s easy to read, even in bright sunlight or darkening rainy skies
The 500/550 has a better screen but it ends there

If you're old enough to afford a decent GPS instead of your phone, then new technology is no longer intuitive.

For full functionally, it is also advisable to install the MyDrive app on a mobile device, particularly to get traffic updates and to facilitate hands free calling , messaging and other conveniences accessible by Bluetooth linking of the mobile device and the Rider 550.
so although I acquired this TomTom unit because it includes traffic updates and has the capability to sync with my phone for messaging and hands free calling I’ve used a Garmin GPS for years and have been quite satisfied with it

Agree that more instructions in the box would have been useful, but I don't think it was hard to figure out at all, particularly if you have experience with other similar GPS units
