The device has a good range (I was able to easily access it a few rooms
After countless resets, countless trial-and-errors at each step, I managed to get it connected to my phone via station mode (so I connect to it via wifi, instead of to my wifi through it, given the limited 5m range), and all password protected so people cannot steal my files.
Good range and works with both apple and android phones
I have alot of experience in computers and networking, this is a great device with good wireless range.

one really important one is that you can password protect the wifi network that the device is creating
Update I just tested this in station mode and it network mount just like any other network drive
Amazing price for an incredible product, if you add a portable battery bank you can use it totally on the go without the need to plug it into an outlet at home, or even in your car, if you use it in Starbucks or dunkin donuts or any public wifi you can use it to keep your internet surfing & transactions without anybody on the same free network because with this device you can set your own password so taht only people you know can use the bridged connection from the wireless adapter to the internet, as well as the content on the attached USB hard drive or flash drive etc...
The Wi-Fi network will appear in available networks as "Toshiba wadp xxxx.

I bought this Toshiba device for my existing USB HDD (Toshiba and WD) and other USB flash drive, after hours to play, I found this small gadget is powerful than my expectation
Nothing was intuitive or simple, not even to my friend, the kind of person who jumps to buy the latest gadget and relishes a tech challenge
I also notes that quite a few negative reviews here, since most of them complain on the poor product user manual, I have the same feeling, this excellent gadget is degraded by Toshiba's poor product user manual

I bet in a few months many drives will add this wireless feature so Windows drives can work with Android devices wirelessly.
" by "touchbyte GmbH" for iOS, this apps embedded the support for Toshiba's this device for iOS with newest V2.2 version, although it is not free, but it is much better than Toshiba's "official" apps, it can backup only NEW photos/videos from your camera roll, this feature is impressive and I love it very much, When you sync your camera roll with this apps, you can pick up "Toshiba Canvio Wireless Adapter" as the target

It's not my WiFi's fault because my WiFi adapter can do a consistent 12MB/s
It's not my WiFi's fault because my WiFi adapter can do a consistent 12MB/s
This is a great wireless adapter for a portable hard drive or memory stick

instead cause she took my position!I use my iPhone to stream another my best new videos, then one issue, most of my videos is not MP4 format, Real Video and MKV are the main stream, but official apps can't support this format
I also like the fact that I can connect this to my battery and have it work I the car and on long rides people not driving of coarse can watch video
This official iOS apps can only support native supported video playback, the file like Real Video and MKV are not supported by this apps.6
oh, my Godness, I used my iPhone to take thousands my baby girl's photo, and I use iPad to watch the video every day, if I can't backup my private photo and watch my favorite video

If you want to access Toshiba storage device and go to internet via another WiFi router (for example, your home WiFi router), you need do setup in the apps as this way, go to setup icon in upper right corner in the first view of the apps, , go to the line of "WLAN", "Choose Network" you want to connect with (it should be your home WiFi router in this case , "Input password" of your home WiFi router, then you can access internet from your apps and access storage device at the same time

Go to Start/This PC/Your hard drive (c) and select it without opening it (single click).
Just check out their website for the correct information
The so-called manual that comes with the adapter was worthless but Toshiba has a good on-line support site that provides much better information.
The specs on Toshiba's web site are lacking this information (as well as maximums), and I'm trying to decide between this or the Addonics WiFi Drive Adapter
The only documentation is a one-page Quick Start sheet that leaves out a lot of important information and makes setting up the device incredibly frustrating
don't support HFS+ for MAC, this is a big loss for MAC users, strongly encourage Toshiba to add it!5
Once you download the app (Toshiba Wireless Adapter for IOS worked best for me), all you need to do is plug the wireless adapter into a power source, connect your desired flash drive or hard drive, and launch the app
This device beautifully shows why Toshiba is struggling and has withdrawn from the PC market in much of the world
Purchased to stream video from a portable hard drive (Toshiba) to my phone (Android) for a road trip
The so-called manual that comes with the adapter was worthless but Toshiba has a good on-line support site that provides much better information.
But the inability to transfer existing photos and other media on your phone to the external drive severely limits the usefulness of the wireless adapter
The wireless adapter is good for streaming media to your phone (streaming of music and video is smooth)
Once you do these things, the adapter works as advertised
Oh, there is one irritating facet of using this adapter that I neglected to mention, though it's not the adapter's fault:
Now you can run the APP.It all sounds so simple, until you realize that your Windows 7's portable hard drive is not supported or compatible with this Canvio wireless adapter, even though it says it is.
Probably the worst documentation and most misleading ads I have seen in years
Yes, the documentation is not great but the device works perfectly with my Windows 7 laptop and with my Android tablet and
Brilliant hardware marred by terrible software and incredibly poor documentation
I installed the Canvio wireless adaptor APP to an iPad and to an iPad mini - after wasting lots of time trying to figure out exactly which APP to install because no app exists under the name listed in the horrible documentation booklet...and, believe it or not, the most obvious choice is the incorrect one.5.
Yes, the documentation is not great but the device works perfectly with my Windows 7 laptop and with my Android tablet and
I concur with the previous reviews stating that the manual is wholly dissatisfying in detail
person.)I bought this device and expected to have some problems given all the reviews about poor manual.
I also notes that quite a few negative reviews here, since most of them complain on the poor product user manual, I have the same feeling, this excellent gadget is degraded by Toshiba's poor product user manual
That’s because the instructions are misleading and inaccurate.
It's not my WiFi's fault because my WiFi adapter can do a consistent 12MB/s
Had I not had the patience to search for a while to find usable instructions to use this device, it would probably be in the mail on its way back to Amazon
I've noticed other reviewers have already noted the fact that the instructions which accompanied the adapter are very difficult to follow
(After getting it set up.)Cons: Very poor included instructions
I bought this to connect it to my 3TB external hard drive.
The wireless adapter and my external hard drive both require a standard USB cable
The adapter works great if you have a compatible portable Hard Drive or purchase a Toshiba one, but keeping the facts in such small print is just irritating to me, so I have to give it 2 Stars
I just plug it into my verizon car charger, plug in a portable hard drive with some movies on it, connect to it with the "Wireless Adapter" app, and it works
This is a great wireless adapter for a portable hard drive or memory stick
Overall, this thing definitely sucks as far as installation and instructions go, as well as the fact that it takes a few minutes for my 1 TB hard drive to load to the point where videos aren't freezing
Installed with a new Seagate 8 TB external drive works great
Unfortunately, I found out (after I purchased it and tried to use it) that it's not compatible with a 3TB hard drive.
I bought this to connect it to my 3TB external hard drive.
Also specs on Amazon say 1 MB hard drive, reviews say 2 TB is the limitation
