but the price was super right at the time, like a year ago it was $60
If you want to get an amazing router at a reasonable price, then the OnHub is your best option in my honest opinion.
Fun fact, this is one of the only reasonably priced routers I could find with guest networks that offer isolation
The price was not bad at all especially for it being a 1200!
As the technology is changing and this is the latest technology innovation with reasonable price and a billion dollar company in no time must have something good for the consumers of the world
the range is great, speed is unmatched, and setup was very easy.
Super easy setup and configuration with one (minor) exception: Trying to configure this thing as an access point that extends an existing wifi network was a huge pain
Setup was easy for a construction guy (not network guy) and I could not be happier.
Easy setup, great range (laptop to router is 40-45 feet
Easy setup works great, covers 3 floors in my house, mounted in the basement.
It was up in minutes and excellent wifi coverage and speed
Looks amazing, I would guess that is what you are paying for, good wifi coverage and amazing looks
They've all had various problems, from regularly required reboots, poor WiFi coverage, connectivity problems to work using standard connectivity methods, poor performance, etc
I don't see why ppl will want this C5400 if it doesn't have more features than the competition or equal too in options, the firmware does have its limitations also for the class this router is in also, many other routers in this class have alot more features (bandwidth speed, deep packet inspection, faster USB transfer speed on router ports, 3G/4G USB Dongle and Cloud Managing, just to name a few)
and I have great WIFI coverage on the first floor of the house as well as in the basement
In my experience through the years, tech support can be very uneven
Overall, a very good product and very good tech support.
It has an old tech look about it and is pretty big compared to the aforementioned cheaper router`s, but if you have burn money, then I would recommend this router.
I even called their tech support and received no help at all
In my experience through the years, tech support can be very uneven
Pretty poor range and too antiquated to be fast enough, already had to replace it with a faster Netgear router.
It was very easy to setup, has great range and works perfectly with out any problems.
like I suspected might happen the thing had horrible range (and poor range means far slower speeds even if it is still picked up; 20ft and a few walls was enough to make it dial-up speeds).Overall, for an affordable consumer router, this is a good choice
Fantastic router great range and have never had a problem
the range is great, speed is unmatched, and setup was very easy.
I like the advanced features in the actual router settings
It's as simple as my Apple router was, but with many great features in the App
I like the automatic features as it always routes traffic and is constantly optimizing channel traffic, however, the automatic features are also the downfall in my application.
I later found out that Netgear did not support WOL features, nor the ability to edit ARP tables and does not give the consumer the option to enable those settings
You have some cool features that will test internet to the WAP, and WAP to your phone
Not being able to turn on a unified network where all devices can see each other regardless of which radio they link up to is a terrible oversight - and I expect a lot of non-technical users are banging their heads thinking (a) their router is broken or not set up right (b) their [smart device name here] is broken or not set up right (c) they think they did something else wrong and are waiting for their kid to come home from college to help fix it
Even with all the comments on the forums about the lack of being able to disable devices for specific time period, the family time feature in the new app is still disabled.
This router is quite pricey, but I believe I will be using it for a long time and it is well worth the investment over cheaper devices
This is like each device getting its own “private” router
Long story short, it is managing 21 devices over 2.4 and 5ghz connections with a wireless bridge and an extender and it never slows or drops a device.
Several months now and works as it was on day 1 and Set up was a breeze!. No signal loss or any other issues
and I have great WIFI coverage on the first floor of the house as well as in the basement
I went from a single band to this triple band as well as from a 10Mbit to 100Mbit service
They walked me through another reset and tried to get off the line as fast as they could.
I was scratching my head for hours trying to figure out why my two wirelessly connected computers could only share files at crawling speeds of 3 - 4 MegaBytes per second, while they were connected with ac fast wireless
I've had issues with my internet and always had dead spots, now I have no dead zones and we haven't have 10 devices connected and this is the best Wi-Fi router ever.
Wireless transfers from PC to PC are excellent +100 MB/s, and same external drive to direct PC USB 2 gets
The reach is tremendous and in my 3600 ft house you don't have a dead spot, even out on the patio or going down to the mailbox.
I previously had an asus router that had dead spots review that were horrible for video calls
2200 square ft house with a second floor and no dead spots now
Very unstable for all of the home wireless devices we have in the house (we have probably 15 items from the Ring doorbell to our thermostat).Definitely returning.
After frustrating 3 days returned this item to Amazon and replaced with Netgear router and viola...no more problems
This Item is Eligible For Free Shipping as well the other item I ordered at the same
Item was as described but it failed to improve my internet speed or quality.
Wireless transfers from PC to PC are excellent +100 MB/s, and same external drive to direct PC USB 2 gets
I got this to replace a wireless router that was having intermittent connectivity issues.

I got sick of the cable companies providing outdated routers that were always having connectivity issues and charging a lease fee
ZyXEL Cable Modem DOCSIS 3.0 Compatible with Time Warner Cox (CDA30360) {actually a HitronTechnologies product}my home network is virtually flawless with no need for hard resets...

The things you may need to get to more often are all on the side panel (WPS button, WiFi on/off switch, USB 2.0 and 3.0 and a hard reset button)
They come in handy for quickly doing hard resets, and for those moments of paranoia when you think someone has tapped into your network from the outside (ha!).A lot of people seem to be stuck on the fact that the ethernet ports on the AC1200 aren't gigabit, but chances are you won't be worrying about that if your internet connection isn't even that fast to begin with

I have purchased several routes that say they have enough coverage for a large house with poor service zones
I've had issues with my internet and always had dead spots, now I have no dead zones and we haven't have 10 devices connected and this is the best Wi-Fi router ever.
For a two-story townhouse, it reaches even to the kitchen (farthest room from the router), which was was a dead zone with last router
The dead zones at my house are now getting great WiFi coverage
The other brand router just easily provide Wi-Fi signal, without any setup about static IP, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS
You can work around this limitation via assigning the machines a static ip (router configuration based off of the machine's nic) and then adding that ip to /etc/hosts on the machines; but this is kind of a pia and fragile
Set static IP routes, connect to a static DHCP, provide amazing wifi coverage, easy setup
Advanced settings let you setup your internet connection, static IP routing, port
I will try to set up the DMZ again, or at minimum a static IP for my PS4.Other than that we've had no issues

This is an unforgivable omission for any parents wanting to limit the hours your kids have access to the internet.
I have spent 2+ hours on calls with support staff and was hung up on twice by them.
I wasted nine hours of my Sunday trying to get this thing to work correctly
3/20/17-----Currently having major issues with it, worked fantastic for the several months it was up and running, now it seems to be overheating every few hours

I worked fine to start, but after about 4 weeks the signal got extremely weak and eventually didn't work at all.
