This range extender works fine when it's linked to my router

Easy to install and works exceptionally well in the location.

This works but internet is a little slower.

This range extender works really well with it to enhance the WIFI signal in the rooms further away or behind walls from where the router is located.

Best wifi extender in my opinion, high internet speed with high range.

The router is in the basement, this extender is upstairs and it works perfectly

I use it in my house as an extender and so far it's working out pretty good

If you have a slower connection this will be a fine extender for you

I used to use a retired Linksys E2700 Wi-Fi router as an Access Point, that device just died yesterday

When I finally got it connected with both bands it works as we had hoped

However after one month using it, I am very disappointed, the speed is very slow compared to the original speed, I put this extender just next to one room where the main router locates,

Now with the AC2600 I can recieve strong signals across the street as well as in my back yard on the other side of the house

With the extender, the strength of the signal has improved to -30 (2.4g) and -33 (5g), extremely strong, and the speed is consistently around 31 mbps down and 24.4 mbps up (2.4g) and 80 mbps both up and down (5g)

That is not a knock against the extender at all but a caution that just because it says it supports 5g, your device you are connecting must also be 5g capable.

I let the (good reviews) distract me from the (bad reviews), and there were plenty of those highlighting the same, and other issues (e.g., dropped connections, dead device, poor throughput).Honestly, I expect a lot out of a such an expensive product, but for me, this one didn't deliver, and is not worth keeping, as it's better for me, network performance-wise, to avoid using it all together.

The latest firmware update was applied, the range wasn't too far from the router/AP, and there weren't any other devices on the extender, but yet, rotten throughput.

Sometimes, more than I am happy with, my MacBook Pro connects to the original AC3150 on 5GHz which has a low signal and weak throughput down here

If you have a slower connection this will be a fine extender for you

I get the same sketchy connection as my regular network in certain rooms

After this was done I was able to get the 5GHz network to work however, the 2.4GHz network although available via the extender, has no internet connection

Eventually, I just reset the unit through the pinhole button and the default wifi name showed up on my available network lists.

Then I tried to set the unit up and the default name for the wifi was not showing up in my list available networks.

However, it didn't work very well because it slowed down my network and automatically disconnected to the router.

However it has been my experience that after a few hours it will lose all internet connectivity

It does help a little bit, but in my experience, in a real-world situation you're looking at maybe 5-10 feet of additional useful connectivity

The TP-Link Extender has greatly improved the speed and connectivity for our previous dead zones.

It loses connectivity frequently and the process of reconnecting is extremely painful and often involves calling the wireless supplier to reset from the home office.

Plus, I have been using the built Ethernet with home cameras and the connectivity has been very reliable

Thank the heavens for the TP-link extender: easy to set up with helpful tools that even make it easy to find the right spot (Intelligent Signal Indicator) and most importantly, the beamforming feature which targets the signal to compatible

This extended our WiFi signal to all the dead spots in our house

Once you have the extender connected to the wireless network, you could move the unit to look for the best spot

However it has been my experience that after a few hours it will lose all internet connectivity

All in all a very frustrating experience for something that looks like it would be a great and simple way to extend a wireless network

the instructions say put the device halfway between your dead zone and the router

It got rid of the dead zone in my house and it delivers great internet speeds!

My basement was practically a WiFi dead zone, but now I get a full signal throughout.

We had recently gotten new internet and my room was kind of a dead zone

The old Wifi dead zone in the living room front porch is now fixed

Using for a hard wired ethernet connection on the other side of my house, and does not hold a consistent connection

It would be nice if you could plug an ethernet cable into it to boost the signal, but it can't do that, it has an ethernet jack, but that is to use for devices that are hard wire only.

It has my security cameras linked to the hard wire connection and streaming the feed is flawless in HD.

You will need to hard wire into it using a cat 5 Ethernet cable for the most worry free set up though

Wi-Fi band on an older laptop than the Category 6 10/100BASE-T Ethernet (RJ-45) cable hard wired.

After a hard reset, found in the instructions, I was able to proceed normally

I spoke with tech support, who walked me through the hard reset process a few more times, but unfortunately I found myself with the same results

Connectivity would drop, settings would get all borked, and I would have to do a hard reset to get it back online

After about 2 weeks of conducting a hard reset every day, I returned the product and bought a 100ft ethernet cable and a router, which has presented no issues to date

I tried restarting the device, and doing a hard reset, but the best I could do is about 24 hours of connection before the issue persisted
