It's 2017 and this router still asks you to look on the back, find the version number then head out into the internet to gamble on finding the right firmware to fix it's buggy features
This product also comes with great features such as guest networks, dual-band wireless, and the ability to monitor devices connected to the router
One other feature I liked was the ability to reduce the transmit power level for this router
And if the WDS feature is unreliable, I will consider to return the Archer C9 V1 and seeking for another product!
This router provides fantastic range and all the features I need.

The first one I had to return because it kept going out on a average of 10 times an hour plus the range was horrible!I'm using the 2nd one now and love it!
The range is outstanding and the router itself is very reliable
The range was poor and I had to relocate to the middle of my house to get coverage all over.
Range is a problem compare to the old Asus and Netgear.

Tedious setup process, I had to manually upgrade the firmware, and it deleted all my settings

The setup was straightforward (no more difficult than setting up any other router), I had it up and running just a few minutes after un-boxing it
Junk, setup was easy but that's where it ended there..kept dropping signal, every time you used a different device you had to sign back in with password

I have the router a foot away from my Roku and it shows signal strength is poor
Setup is easy, signal strength was quite good in my home, and I rarely needed to reset it (which seems to be necessary with every router I've owned).However, the unit died after about 4 months.
This TP link router was super easy to setup and the signal strength has been solid across my house.
When first set up, router was great; great speed, great signal strength, then it wasn't.
Got this to replace a WNR2000 router with hopes of getting better signal strength in corners of house

I look into DHCP client list and discovered my Motto X android phone has 2 MAC addresses, and the correct MAC address should be 60-BE-B5-31-80-26 instead of 62-.....4 android-
It can be configured by giving it a static IP address, turning off DHCP, and plugging the cable to the router into a LAN port instead of a the WAN port.

To top it off, TP-Link's customer service seems like a nightmare to deal with, and is more concerned with pasting template responses to bad reviews than resolving issues with their products.

My two cents: Some folks may think they need even higher bandwidth capability or otherwise are seduced by high-priced units, but a unit like this one or other 1900's will stream several devices simultaneously at top speeds if you have a fast ISP
Have had several connectivity problems that required a visit from ISP tech, who isolated it to a loose connection in the box outside the house
If you have a slow ISP, a faster router won't help a bit
What was the chore was getting our ISP to recognize the new equipment
Also our ISP (not ATT) is relatively stable which also helps.

Idk if this is because it insists (there's that HAL9000 again) that its IP MUST be on a different subnet than my DNS (which happens to be my main router, thank verizon...), but it's driving me nuts
however, it has problem recognizing the dynamic IP from my internet service provider (Comcast).
The work around is, setup device with static IP address, then it works

No more "dead zones" Stop messing around with cheaper WiFi
This is a very good router for what it costs, I used to have C7, this is very easy to setup had no problems at all, and probably do not need the extras unless you have something outside or still have dead zones far away, Good luck.
