Reviews around instrument (5.00 of 5)

  • This is a great instrument initially so it started at 5 stars
  • After all that struggle I sat and thought, this is a good instrument but for what it is worth, unless I was unlucky and got a defective one, I'm bored
  • This doesn't break the instrument or mess with anything as it is an easy operation to make
  • However, where the G is supposed to be, is actually a slightly sharp F# (concert E)
  • let’s me use the 3rd valve trigger to adjust my C# s etc just fine

Reviews around design (5.00 of 5)

  • If Tromba develops and improve the design they could change the paradigm of plastic over brass as the standard for the best flugelhorn.
  • The spit valves look to be well-designed with rubber seals.
  • I like the overall design down to how the caps are clamped on.
  • However, where the G is supposed to be, is actually a slightly sharp F# (concert E)
  • let’s me use the 3rd valve trigger to adjust my C# s etc just fine

Reviews around way (5.00 of 5)

  • When you first get it, give the valves and valve sleeves a good cleaning (there is a good instructional video on YouTube) and oiling and it will greatly improve the way the horn plays
  • WAY easier to make this sound nice than the Conn 16E.
  • For its purpose, the occasional Flugel player, this is a very affordable way to get that sound.

Reviews around metal (5.00 of 5)

  • However, where the G is supposed to be, is actually a slightly sharp F# (concert E)
  • I use a Denis Wick 2FL mouthpiece rather than the one supplied (though that one is metal not bad, just not as deep as the 2FL)
  • The valves are metal and work smoothly, and the tone is nice.

Reviews around valves (5.00 of 5)

  • Valves are really smooth-I took the time to oil and clean them during the first week
  • Valves are nice and fast (faster than my King Silver Flair... should probably get that checked out)
  • However, where the G is supposed to be, is actually a slightly sharp F# (concert E)
  • let’s me use the 3rd valve trigger to adjust my C# s etc just fine

Reviews around tromba trumpet (5.00 of 5)

  • It is MUCH lighter than my Kanstul 1525 or Yamaha 631 and it seems to play great and a lot better that the P-Trumpet.
  • However, where the G is supposed to be, is actually a slightly sharp F# (concert E)
  • He loved it so much that he just ordered a tromba trumpet in white!
  • Whenever I'm asked for a recommendation for a starter horn I always recommend this one or the Tromba trumpet.

Reviews around bite (5.00 of 5)

  • However, where the G is supposed to be, is actually a slightly sharp F# (concert E)
  • The sound is great, a bit stuffy but great
  • The pitch slotting is acceptable in all ranges (although the upper range is a bit squirrely like on many flugels).

Reviews around fact (5.00 of 5)

  • let’s me use the 3rd valve trigger to adjust my C# s etc just fine
  • I like the fact that it has metal-to-metal piston and cylinder surfaces and the valve action is smooth but a little clanky.

Reviews around thing (5.00 of 5)

  • Might replace the rubber washers under the valve caps with felt ones to quiet things down.
  • And the top line f and g were impossible to tune
  • For the price, this thing is great.

Reviews around sound (3.95 of 5)

  • The sound is great, a bit stuffy but great
  • Nice sound but valves are kinda noisy.
  • All colors play equally as well and the sound is what a flugel is SUPPOSED to have- smooth and buttery! Here are two examples of what an awesome sound and feel this horn has (trumpets as well)
  • let’s me use the 3rd valve trigger to adjust my C# s etc just fine
  • I do recommend practicing pitches with your lips and mouth piece before attempting this horn because that's what's gonna get the sound to be correct.
