The stellar cast and character development , the use of time sequences ( a director art rarely done well anymore), just a few examples of the high quality of producing, directing, and especially acting that had me looking forward to Suday evening Episode for the first time in decades.

Unfortunately, it didn't take long to begin the downhill slide into a bunch of unnecessary sex scenes, blood, guts, and then an over abundance of sex, guts and gore, with a few very thin plots thrown in to justify the ridiculous sex and debauchery

It almost lost its way in season 5 but they pulled it out and had the story finish strong with a satisfying end with the combination of comedy, drama and character based story telling that made the show good to begin with.
Has a few too many nudity scenes, but the story is great
