A couple downsides However are buggy software (very rarely), weak wireless signal (if you step outside the room with the headset) and a lack of user created presets
The sound quality is really good and the presets are fun.
Both headsets claim to be 7.1 but where the A50’s are much louder the 800’s, the 800’s shine in the quality and clarity of sound
The different presets for wach mode really do work and there is a noticable in each one which is great
There's another 12-18+ presets available for music, stereo sound, movie watching
If not for the discomfort issue, I may have kept the set I tested, especially with the goodies that come with the Elite program, beginning with a 24 month warranty, concierge phone number, free t-shirt or hoody, and two free sets of custom ear plates.
Bluetooth is good, when it works, but shuts off on its own.

I got some ear covers (to replace the plates on there now) and a free t-shirt
sometimes is a little bit difficult to make yourself be hurt but nothing that bothers you Bluetooth is also great to connect and it's super easy to handle and the buttons are phenomenal I did buy this product used but it looks brand-new
but they are really uncomfortable especially if I have my glasses on instead of wearing contacts otherwise its alright.-Another reason why I knocked off a
It is pretty good but there is some issues with it like it glitches a
It is a fantastic upgrade from my older headsets, and as I mentioned, the versatility of this headset is a great value!
It's surprising that so many of the competitors have not implemented this technology in their headsets, it boosts the value of the set so much to be able to seamlessly transition between your PS4, PC, and Phone with the push of a button
Putting a label on value is difficult and even a $600 headset can be good value for money if the quality justifies it
To those of you who got a set of these and love them, I'm jealous!

Love this set easy to use and ready to go on my PS4 LOVE IT!!
many early reviews of that one said it was an issue, then some claimed it was fixed; my set doesn't have any hiss so it was indeed fixed)

the sound is really good, looks amazing and its an over all great product; however it has a really big problem and that is that the headset is made with the cheapest materials that you can get.. the left ear piece of my headset broke of after a month of use :( really disappointed on the quality of an item of this price
I really feel like this product could be improved by including a better collection of presets, or a better ability to let customers make their own
I try to use the best quality product to help me get the best experience possible
Great product had it for a real long time it is a really great headset
Your chances of getting a defective product is astronomically high; and even if you get a good one, they don't seem to be durable from the feedbacks I have read and seen.
I recommend these to anyone looking for great gaming headphones
Nice gaming headset set and at the same time has a lot of features except my ears that hurts
but they are really uncomfortable especially if I have my glasses on instead of wearing contacts otherwise its alright.-Another reason why I knocked off a
do not recommend for big ears as they hurt my ears after an hour of gaming and are rather heavy
Superior headphones, improve gaming and enhance most all other audio run through the phones.
The mic is pretty much a cool feature as well to these headphones no massive Mic in your way
better.-Buttons on the side are way too sensitive and basically not even buttons but sensors, always accidentally changing preset modes when trying to turn up/down volume.-I really hate the mic monitoring feature as yes it does help you hear how loud you're
They have a very cool feature where you can pair them to your phone, and use them on your computer via the wireless cradle.
Imo they sound pretty amazing, and my wife and I love the Bluetooth feature, being able to connect my phone to it and listen to music or take phone calls is pretty awesome
I found that the headset does a great job of nose isolating as well; the feature is disabled by pressing the power button
As far as build quality turtle beach made an awesome pair of headphones
but they are really uncomfortable especially if I have my glasses on instead of wearing contacts otherwise its alright.-Another reason why I knocked off a
Whenever audio is not playing, the pair that I received create a constant static hiss that was still audible even when playing loud music
It is pretty good but there is some issues with it like it glitches a
I've had two pair of these both pair broke within a month.
Holding this button down cycles through different available mic presets (more on that below)
The turtle beach 800 is very great headset very good game sounds ,you can hear foot steps from an while away ,and Bluetooth works great but if you wear it too long it starts hurting your ears and the mic sounds like an can when talking
Was super excited to have these, but then everyone tells me my mic sounds horrible.
Bluetooth worked great, boomless mic was ok... but not great
The mic is kind of bad to be honest but the sound quality is good
When you hang-up a bluetooth call, the beep prompt will blow your eardrums out so this feature also isn't of much use at the moment

I basically had to buy a 12 foot cable to ensure good connection with the headset.[End of cons][Pros]Mic clarity seemed pretty good for me
The connection is choppy, the buttons are so sensitive that if you put your head on, say a

Worked great for the first 2 weeks then i started having problems with the headset losing connection to the transmitter base
The only major down fall is the cheap plastic that is used
I will update in a years time on these with further thoughts on these elite 800’s
charging dock.+ Easy to pair and set up.+ Simple and well integrated volume/mic dial controls on the sides of the earcups.+ Crisp and clear Dolby Pro Logic audio quality with highly customizable audio options.+ Sleek and solid plastic
Eight months after I bought them, the plastic began to crack at the point where you slide the headset to fit your head.
I got some ear covers (to replace the plates on there now) and a free t-shirt
These to me are the features that outshine the 800’s when directly comparing the two.1
This easily could be the best headset if it didn't have the background noise when the output is silent
First I am going to touch on the Astro A50’s and their positives that out weight the 800’s
I've literally spent more time trying to keep this headset, which has AWFUL feedback and background noise, connected to my game system than I have actually playing my games
People within the Playstation Network seem to hear me just fine (as well as

I got some ear covers (to replace the plates on there now) and a free t-shirt
The fact that I can customize the sound for each game I play actually makes a good bit of difference
Astro fits really tight on my head while the elite is a bit loose because it's bulky
A bit disappointing for a mobile phone BT headset because of the constant "pulse", the lack of controls, and the unusable power (off) button
Padding on the ear cups is more than ample and unlike some of my other Turtle Beach headsets the 800 doesn't start hurting my ears or head during extended play sessions
However, now 7 months after purchase the right ear cup just lost all tension
They are pretty heavy and start to hurt my ears after a few hours
but they are really uncomfortable especially if I have my glasses on instead of wearing contacts otherwise its alright.-Another reason why I knocked off a
The Elite 800 ear cups are simply too small for my ears to be a circumaural headphone, and I also found the pressure on the side of my head to cause fatigue after only 30-40 minutes of use
This headset is the second time it brokes since i got it like 20march2018, and i really lost my patience
Well, 3 times is enough to prove to me that these companies aren't here to provide quality audio products, they are here to make the largest profit margin possible
I got some ear covers (to replace the plates on there now) and a free t-shirt
This headset comes with an integrated mic (boomless) and can sometimes have a hard time picking up what you're saying

This is probably the worst headset company ive dealt with so
I got some ear covers (to replace the plates on there now) and a free t-shirt
And the mic monitoring doesn't actually work, so thats kind of obnoxious.
I love being able to have Home theater audio, PSN chat, Bluetooth, and a 3.5mm input working all at the same time, this is ridiculously awesome!I have an issue with the left ear, it seems to have something to do with noise cancelling or mic monitor(both of which I have off or down as low as possible)
If not for the discomfort issue, I may have kept the set I tested, especially with the goodies that come with the Elite program, beginning with a 24 month warranty, concierge phone number, free t-shirt or hoody, and two free sets of custom ear plates.
(mic monitoring doesn't work today, last month it was random disconnects)6
I don't know how abusive other people are to their headsets, but I've owned my PX4 for over 3 years and have not had a single issue with it
If they fixed the buttons on the headsets and made the headset a bit louder (as i know some people like there ears to bleed) would of gotten 5 starsP.S I have submitted a request to TB about if they can lock the buttons down
Many people might be wondering about the mic (since it's a big part of gaming nowadays)
I've got a pretty big head and glasses (always XL caps or larger), so I don't know how other people could find this uncomfortable, unless it was too big for them
A few people also complain about the sound level not being able to be adjusted loud enough
This is the worst piece of equipment I have ever had the misfortune of purchasing
The clasps built into the side that help the earphones expand broke on EACH side (just under the silver bands in the illustration). It is just a flimsy piece of plastic that notches when you expand the headphones.
I have never owned a worse piece of electronics/technology every !!!
worst piece of garbage there's white noise and they broke after about a month of
