It also does not have a an adjustable bass boost adjust with I found to be occasional helpful depending on the source media.
The audio quality is good, but if you are looking for great bass boost you need to look elsewhere.
The sound is crystal clear, the bass is good, the cord is plenty long enough for him to make himself comfortable on the couch, and he loves how he can hear his own voice in the microphone so he can tell how loud he is talking.
Yes, these aren't intended to appeal to audiophile users, but even still, I found the sound quality to be somewhat below your typical $10 earbuds, with lots of muddy, overpowering bass that tends to drown out any detail that might be in the sound stream
The bass on these is great and I love the ability to separately control game/ chat volume

The second pair lasted about 6 months then broke at the adjustable slide
He had an issue with the fist pair, so it was replaced immediately, three and half months later still in great shape
I initially loved the sound so much that I bought a second pair after 3 months when I ruined the cable with my office chair
I think we just received a bad pair, they was not clear at all, Turtle Beach is one of the best headphone there are, we just picked up a pair at target for the same price
if the new ones broke as well, I think I just got a faulty pair.

That was always the biggest issue with these; the wire was too stiff
The seller did not include the wire that attaches to the controller and the volume box making the headset useless thank you again for wasting my time you moron.
Also, the wires look like something out of a Wes Craven novel.
The only thing I did not like is that the wire is very stiff which makes storing, moving the wire around when wearing, etc a bit unwieldy.
