Device is great when it actually works
-
Device is slow and constantly loses internet connection
-
but this access point is just way too slow compared to my 5 year old asusI tested using multiple devices, tried changing channel, tried upgrading firmware, tried moving to different locations and different orientation, but my old router consistently outperforms this one by 2x or 3x
-
So here is the easy setup - get a Ubiquiti AP (the cheaper non-pro might even be better value), get the Cloud Key device
-
Poor performance with iPhone 6 devices, well documented in the Unifi forums, even for previous (non-Pro) Unifi products
-
Ubiquiti makes great wireless devices.
-
I am almost certainly going to recommend Ubiquiti for excellent WiFi devices now
-
These devices, together, were cheaper than some of the wireless routers I was buying.
-
The devices work unbelievably well together and setup is a breeze if you are familiar with wireless APs.
-
I had to remove a cheap AP because the controller kept identifying it as a rogue device.
-
It's odd that you have to run the control software server from your computer to configure the APs, but at least you need not leave that server software running at all times just for the AP to work; you only need to have the server running all the time if you want to use certain features such as the temporary access guest network with splash screen login (like what you find at Starbucks or many hotels). The device itself is very attractive, sleek, and low-profile, so even my very aesthetic-conscious wife was not upset by this new device I attached to our ceiling
-
Overall a great product and would make a great secondary WAP to extend coverage it doesn't make a good primary device in my opinion
-
Secondly, the device supports multiple SSIDs and placement of traffic by SSID onto tagged VLANs
-
Several other devices as well
-
Stable bandwidth, devices behind several walls still get decent signal, supports many professional settings if you really want to customize for your network.
-
These are generally pretty good devices.
-
After troubleshooting for hours online, everything pointed to a defective device
-
I was going to rebuild the ClearOS router, but this device is cheaper, FAR more energy efficient, and tiny in comparison
-
Love this device
-
The device works beautifully
-
The results are great; I run 6 networks off this device, and I can keep some networks reserved for fast devices and some for slow devices to prevent congestion and slowdown in a mixed mode environment.
-
Adding in the time to work through the bugs made this a very expensive device.
-
I get about 400Mbps down with my gigabit internet connection on AC compatible devices
-
Traditional home access points just blindly broadcast the network they receive, this device is much smarter
-
That said, this device requires some technical skill.
-
Great device, good software, privacy issues
-
Solid devices.
-
My house has about 25 devices connecting via wifi (combination of smartphones, laptops, Apple TVs, and a bunch of smart home devices), this Unifi AP seems to have no problem handling the load where my E8350 Linksys would choke on too many simultaneous connections -- like literally, I'd have a device connected via 5G wifi, great signal strength, but it couldn't even ping the router (gateway).
-
Overall I love this device and the information/features it provides.
-
If your home is wired this is the best wireless device to make a great wireless bubble at your home.
-
Simply amazing device
-
Several people recommended this device to me, so I tried them out, and wow, they're great.

-
Signal works perfect, really solid wifi in a beautiful minimalistic device that matches with every type of place
-
However you need to know some information.1) what does this device do?This device by itself will act like a router with DHCP forward
-
Best wifi device ever.
-
I have 5 wireless IP cameras capturing 1-2fps at 640x480 constantly as well as 10-15 other devices that connect
-
love this AP, now my mobile devices are just as fast as my wired devices
-
This device was recommended by a professional installer we used previously - but when we tried to intall it ourselves in a remote location it is absolutely impossible.
-
It really hampers the device unless you buy all in
-
Can't recommend these devices enough.
-
The 2.4Ghz network can also confuse some older devices, specifically I seemed to have problems with some home automation devices like skybell and myQ garage openers.
-
Its a solid device, just not flexible enough for home use
-
I haven't touched the devices in a week and my wireless just works
-
The singular device is working well and my customer is able to manage it via the phone app.
-
Android devices apparently work great
-
I wholeheartedly recommend a device like this because it makes everything three times easier to troubleshoot.
-
Along with the dream machine this device is amazing.
-
This is a great little device
-
The device is awesome, but other things should be considered before you buy this
-
If you're looking for a DHCP service, you're looking at the wrong device.
-
While this is an easy device to configure if you know what you are doing, it will be difficult for a first timer.
-
The device has worked flawlessly since set up sitting inside my TV stand.
-
Nice device
-
Newer devices which support AC and the 5Ghz band will benefit from the better speeds that this offers
-
Also it was 5GHz only, so only my most expensive or more recent devices could use it (but that was ok, because I bought it mostly for my phone and my wife's phone).
-
they are great devices that I have deployed and many business
-
I have yet to encounter a bad device
-
This is an affordable and power friendly little device about the size of a small cordless phone handset
-
The device itself is really nice, designed well
-
Those devices just were not reliable...
-
It's a terrible device that drops devices off the Wifi all the time
-
It would have been better if the device just had its own webserver like most devices do, but its a simple
-
Can't recommend these devices enough.
-
I set up separate 5G and 2.4G SSIDs to support older devices (a little clunky in the UI because of having to change settings in two different places). The device is installed on the first floor and reaches both the 2nd floor and the basement without any signal drops (1900 sqft home excluding basement). In top of functionality, it has form.
-
After scratching my head and reading some documentation, I found a work around with implementing this device into the network
-
horrible performance, I tried so hard to love this device but just had to send
-
I've been working with the Ubiquiti products from 2 years now and in every office environment, the UniFi AC Pro devices have improved and greatly enhanced the quality of the wireless network.
-
Here at home, we use it with a handful of laptops & cell phones (lots of kids video games and video streaming), as well as about 25 or 30 wifi home Automation devices, including a couple of security cameras streaming HD feeds 24/7, and a HD video streaming dongle with a G on it
-
After scratching my head and reading some documentation, I found a work around with implementing this device into the network
-
All my IoT things go to a separate vlan completely isolated from my mobile/laptop/raspberry pi devices that can auth against wpa ent (with an rpi acting as a AAA).One thing I'm slightly unsatisfied with: these devices don't currently support any kind of PSK radius auth
-
So now if I want to have seamless handoff, I need to go buy another UniFi device and disable the wireless on my NetGear XR500 wireless router

While it seems like the devices offer a lot of capability, figuring out how to get them properly setup is extremely problematic unless you are a professional who has been trained in their products or at a minimum a very knowledgeable network engineer.
-
It's really an excellent device.
-
really do pack alot of features and power into amazingly affordable devices, I can't speak highly enough of ubiquity
-
I have been a Network Engineer for over 20 years and specialize in Wireless LAN designs and installations and this Access Point the perfect device to give the majority of homes 100% coverage.
-
Only after hiring a network expert (who was the original inspiration behind purchasing these devices) and spending hours with him in person and on the phone with Sonos customer
-
It is not the friendliest device to
-
Was really expecting more form this fairly expensive device
-
I HIGHLY recommend this AP as well as it is also an excellent device for home, SOHO, or SMB
-
These devices work great.
-
Again, this is a feature many of Ubiquiti's devices have but is missing from a "Professional" access point.
-
One of them tried and did essentially the same thing as I, and no luck
-
I'm so happy to finally have a commercial-grade Wi-Fi system that's as solid and reliable as I want it to be.
