Ubiquiti Networks Unifi 802.11ac Dual-Radio PRO Access Point (UAP-AC-PRO-US)

    • I love these things— I ding off one star because it is really, really difficult to get these things off once attached
    • This thing is AMAZING
    • So, it just works for me, and that's a Good Thing
    • Buying these Unifi APs was the best thing I've ever done for my network
    • I've heard good things about
    • The best thing to do once you get your units adopted is to research the best "radio" settings (channels, power) to transmit faster internet
    • but I had to reboot the darn thing twice a week until it died after 2 years
    • I love these things.
    • AMAZING!!!!One other thing to mention...in many of the YouTube videos showing these devices in use, they will talk about adding additional hardware like a Cloud Key or Security Gateway (USG) from Ubiquity, but I can confirm you DONT need to buy them for these AP's to work
    • Now that I'm sending the stupid thing back, I have to patch the holes.
    • I absolutely love this thing
    • We have several laptops, phones, tablets, cameras, as well as a few IOT things that use wifi.
    • I can ssh to the damn thing and reset hostname, hosts files
    • This signal booster is already a second purchase, and good things should be praised!
    • Can't say enough good things about these.
    • no matter the brand these things are built to fail after just a couple years
    • Not enough stars to show how good these things are!
    • Just fired this thing up and so far I like it.
    • The only thing I wish they would do is dim the led ring at night because it's way too bright and lights up a whole room (I know you can turn it off but still....)
    • These things are amazing, I plan on buying more and putting them throughout my house to improve wifi coverage
    • I can't say enough good things about this AP and Unifi in general.
    • I love these things there way better then getting all in one router becuase honestly all in one
    • I really, really like this thing.
    • The Wifi worked well for a couple of years, but then things started to slow down.
    • I love these things
    • Love these things easy setup turned off the wifi on my router
    • I upgraded from the old green light Unifi AP and this thing is way faster
    • Part of the possible confusion is that the management interface is designed to manage multiple devices (APs, switches, etc), which isn't a bad thing if you need this capability, but can confuse users that haven't dealt with this sort of management capability in the past.
    • Something that they did seems to have caused this problem, and the bad thing is, once a unit is updated with the newer firmware, you can't downgrade it to get rid of the dropping issue.
    • Love these things
    • These things are quite amazing for the price.
    • These things are rock solid and easy to deploy
    • I absolutely love this thing and would buy another in a heart beat.
    • This thing is actually pretty bad
    • In terms of coverage, these things are amazing
    • This thing has been absolutely rock solid
    • These things are great!
    • These things just work great
    • It's feature rich and the hardest thing about the installation was running the Cat6 cable in the attic.
    • But here's the cool thing: it has a completely open Busybox on Linux, and you can configure the AP however you want that way by just logging in via SSH
    • This thing, along with the PRO Access Point, has really simplified my networking life
    • I have tried many (MANY MANY) products all promising the same thing....whole
    • I thought this was the greatest thing to enter my home, but then suddenly I go from 250mbps down to 93mbps for no apparent reason
    • The great thing about these access points is it will AUTOMATICALLY switch between 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands based on how close you are and other factors to give you the best signal.
    • The only negative and unexpected thing I had - it doesn't work with
    • This thing has been solid for
    • Good thing I kept the 'original packaging' to send back since that seemed to be a return requirement.
    • I don't thing interference is an issue
    • This thing is soooo fast, and the features are great.
    • This thing is rock solid stable and very powerful
    • I can't say enough good things about this company.
    • Paired with the Unfi Security Gateway these things are great.
    • These things just work!
    • These things are the bomb so far
    • Of course the thing starts popping warnings that its not compatible with
    • I don't know if the Google WiFi would have really blown this thing out of the water, but all I can say is, for me, for what I wanted, this thing gets 5 stars in range, definitely better than my previous setup.
    • One other nice thing about the software
    • This thing hasn't so much as skipped a beat in the first four months so far and I love it.
    • and I can't say enough good things about the product or the company.
    • It is very light which is good and bad,I placed this in my lab and I am constantly dropping things and devices fall out of the drop ceiling, I think if this falls 8 feel I think it will be in 1000 pieces
    • One bad thing, not enough to take a star
    • Once set up, these things just hum along and work very well and provide great WiFi coverage.
    • The only good thing about this access point is modern design
    • This thing didn't glitch once.
    • Add that to all the advanced features you get with Unifi and this thing is a awesome
    • Another very annoying thing that I found out is that they only do wired ethernet at 100 Mbps to my Gigabit switch.
    • Company is awful at firmware updates, always breaking things, rolling back, I can no longer recommend these
    • It's been roughly a month since the install and we love this thing
    • Negatives: this thing runs hot
    • This thing is POWERFUL!
    • I absolutely love these things
    • Once set up, these things just hum along and work very well and provide great WiFi coverage.
    • Was a little confusing at first to get set up, but this thing works like a champ
    • The neat thing about this system is the seamless roam between
    • One bad thing, not enough to take a star
    • These things are easy to setup and have amazing coverage.
    • Cameras, doorbells, IOT switches, alarm system components, smart TVs and countless other things
    • These little things are awesome!
    • The thing that I say about them is they just work.
    • These things are great for not only an office, but, for your home as well
    • to 2020 would of bumped up things a bit but since my Apple Airports were out of software updates it felt like a good time to upgrade.
    • One of them tried and did essentially the same thing as I, and no luck
    • I'm so happy to finally have a commercial-grade Wi-Fi system that's as solid and reliable as I want it to be.
    • I have a couple laptops that only support B/G/N that still had issues, but replaced the wifi in them with USB 802.11ac cards and they also work fantastically now
    • Both 2.4 and 5G work great
    • the only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it insists on fixing on a very weak 5g channel even though I configured it to something else.
    • No bandsteering so most of the clients connect to the slower 2g and not the AC enabled 5g.
    • This thing supports dual 2.4/5G and 802.11ac and has extremely powerful radios, so it is an excellent choice for a modern home network -- for example, using Sonos devices for streaming high quality audio with no lag
    • Like that both the 2G and 5G SIDs can be the same name (previous AP wouldn't allow that).
    • I have always used Cisco and Aruba products and tried this and all I can say is WOW what an awesome platform and along with the Unifi controller it gives an amazing g amount of onsite into your networK/RF environment and it keeps getting better with every firmware update I keep getting more
    • so I ended up just disabling the 2g radio entirely to force 5g from that AP
    • I was looking more for a stronger 5G so picked up a 2nd one to fill in the gaps
    • 5G signal is somewhat lacking in strength but the 2G seems solid
