Ubiquiti Networks Unifi 802.11ac Dual-Radio PRO Access Point (UAP-AC-PRO-US)

    • I ran a straight hard wire from the modem to where I want this signal booster and the signal is incredible.
    • A computer hard wired to the same switch saturates my 100 mbs internet.
    • Also, Comcast can't support a blazingly fast pipe into my house - the wires won't support it even though they'll sell me "up to" some impressive speeds
    • Wireless is just as fast as wired connections for the most part.
    • Loved the setup and single wire up the wall rather than a pleathora of router wires and power line!
    • Both of my unifi access points are hard wired to a
    • but I was excited about cleaning up the wiring in my electronics cabinet that much more
    • On my iPhone with ~300mb/s from my ISP, I can only get about 120mb/s from my phone, while my hard wire gets 300mb/s - but I imagine this is likely more a limitation of the iPhone 6's 5G radio than anything else
    • I have 27 wifi products and 15 hard wired products
    • One nice featrue is these units have 2 ethernet ports to allow them to be daisy chained (wired from one to the next) to simplify wiring, and also they communicate and pass off users as you move
    • I still had lots of network drop-outs and even the hard wired products had problems.
    • I was still seeing problems with the hard wired items and some of the wireless since Linksys was still being used.
    • Even after getting basic functionality of Sonos to operate, I can no longer get Sonos units to communicate with a separate music server/PC that is hard-wired to my router.
    • If you are a handyman, wiring up this device is a peace of cake
    • You don't need to get the cloud controller or the gateway suggested in the user manual, you just need a router (you probably have one) and you will need to hard wire (with ethernet cable, cat 5, 5e, or 6) from the router to where ever you mount this magical AP.
    • I was not certain if the AP failed, the wiring failed or the PoE injector failed.
    • Once the system is set up, adding these access points is easy and they are excellent for our needs - 35+ buildings hard wired using the Edge Switch and UAPs.
    • love this AP, now my mobile devices are just as fast as my wired devices
    • This required a hard-wire gigabit ethernet from the network switch in the basement.
    • One of them tried and did essentially the same thing as I, and no luck
    • I'm so happy to finally have a commercial-grade Wi-Fi system that's as solid and reliable as I want it to be.
