Nice new price point for AC wifi dual radio access point by Ubiquiti Networks (ubnt). We deploy lots of their AP-LR and AC models - jumped on this AC Lite model (from a different supplier) -- only issue we had was having to upgrade the controller to the latest version so it could adopt this unit flawlessly
Nice new price point for AC wifi dual radio access point by Ubiquiti Networks
They are making fantastic products for crazy low prices now.
They provide great coverage at a surprisingly good price
Better then all other mainstream access points, business grade for a great price.
I will be purchasing and recommending these devices to my IT peers.
Awesome device for fixing Wi-Fi issues with range, stability and management
This AP appears to be a great device and only time will tell for sure.
Finally!!!My devices are all working well and speed is so, so nice to have
The UniFi puts out a strong signal in both the 2.4G and 5G bands, and my devices are working at full speed in the bedroom when they would previously lose connection
* my pants when I though I lost access though, because there is no external buttons on this AP, meaning the only way to restore defaults for openWRT would be to hook up a serial console or inject a magic packet to get it to boot in TFTP mode
Excellent access point, had it for ~6 months, just works
Perfect less problematic and cheap access points in the market!
Also: when you power the unit on and off, your going to get Rogue Access Point "YOUR
Best access point I have ever owned as far as performance
Range is great, better than my old Linksys WRT160N, and speeds are much better
While the hotspot is great and all, for the money I just expected much more as far as range and speed were concerned (though mostly speed, as the range is adequate).
but honestly, the range is just so poor that I don't even
It was easy to install and set up, the range is good, and it is super stable
Great range and easy to setup with the unifi android app!
My speeds throughout my 1600 sq ft house average about 90 mbps down, as opposed to the 15 down before
I have setup a group that limits download/upload speeds on a guest wireless that is behind a captive portal, setup my main SSID and the thing is screaming
Coverage is great, speed is way better than what they replaced and they do everything I need and more.
3 meters from the AC the top speed I could get was about 500 up / 500 down using 802.11ac
The AC-Lite system is just the thing for a real geek that is frustrated by slow speeds or spotty coverage.
It will broadcast 1 SSID for 2.4 and 5ghz so your users arent confused as to what they should be connecting to and have many other features you normally have to pay a lot for (IE load balancing, the ability to charge for access and very detailed information on
So the only way I could get it to work was through a static IP address.
It was simple enough to get the up and running even assigning Static IP addresses.
As a final step I set the AC-LITE's ip to a static address on my wired router then verified I could log in via ssh and list attached mac addresses using the mca-dump command
You are still going to need a router to act as a DHCP server to issue IP addresses to all your wired & wireless devices
I wanted to do mesh or something to fix wifi dead spots
Fast, reliable, enough power to get ride of the dead spots in my house
On top of that, it had dead spots in the house, and my master bedroom was the worst
I had a Asus 1900 AC before, but there will dead spots in my 2800 sqft home.
Been doing my research for Ubiquiti products and was tried of consumer products not living up to standard and having dead spots in the house that is 1320
I am using 802.3af/A from my UniFi switch, although it will also support Ubiquiti's proprietary 24V passive PoE.
FYI, the 2 Lite that I received on 10/18/2017 were tested Nov 2016 and do support 802.3af POE, not just the 24V passive
I was shipped the older 24V passive PoE version, not the currently shipping dual voltage units that will plug directly into a current Unifi PoE switch
It was sold by Amazon.com LLC and shipped from Newark, CA.YMMV, but I saw a bunch of reviewers complaining with the 24V passive POE
