Well this 2dsxl grip does not lock in well at all, it would slide right off at a decent angle

The kickstand rests at the perfect angle for optimal stylus play.

They are well angled, feel great and don't add a lot to the overall weight.

I've never used the stand, but it as well as the stylus is a nice touch

The clear top cover is a nice touch, and makes opening the system a lot easier, but I would also prefer something close to original colorway

The plastic shell is a nice touch, and the grips have a kickstand which is pretty cool

The clear case for the top is a nice touch to protect it as the top half is much thinner than the bottom half and not sure how much damage it could take if it falls.

He loves the way it makes his Ds feels like a ps4 controller

It does add a somewhat significant amount of weight to the unit, so I've opted of using the clear shell for the top to reduce the weight

In terms of overall weight, with just the black handgrip (no clear shell top case) it weighs closer to the older 3DS model (not the new 3DS).I've used rubber/silicone grips before on my 3DS, but the hard, smooth plastic of this grip just feels so much better (like a real console controller)

Also, for some reason they sent me a back clear cover instead of the front one advertised

Love this product, As someone who had big hands I found it hard to hold and control the new 2ds on certain game like Metroid/Mario/etc

I also don't want to take a star away for sending the back cover instead of the front because I think that might have just been a shipping mistake, not a faulty product

Other than that, I love this product and wish I would've bought one with my original 3DS years ago

There is clear access to the game cartridge slot, it has a built in extra stylus inside the tip of the left grip AND comes with an extra top protector.

Removal is simple enough and with the majority of the bottom bare easy access to the game slot is present

This new model sacrifices device protection for panel access convenience which constantly worries me about an accidental scratch to my device while playing

Being able to swap games, as well as have access to each port is definitely convenient

With the grip, my 2ds xl is easier to hold without dropping it (haven't dropped my 2ds without the grip, but came close), feels a lot more comfortable while playing, and my 2ds also feels more durable

All buttons are easy to reach and it make the 2DS really feel like a controller

Still worthy of 5 stars however; this made playing my 2DS a lot more comfortable and familiar to my hands.

The 2DS is a nightmare to hold while trying to play any type of game other than an rpg

The hold on the device is very good at any angle, until you give any push on the 2DS XL itself, which it will then fall out immediately

The stylus that it comes with is almost impossible to remove from the hand grip

My only real complaint about it is that the stylus that's built into the grip is pretty much impossible to remove without some sort of tool.

As others have said, the stylus inside the grip is impossible to get out without breaking off a nail, but I hadn't planned on using it

I will say that unless you know the stylus' sweet spot, you're going to have a difficult time getting it out

I was having a hard time playing as much as I want due to my wrists/hands hurting, but this makes it much more comfortable.

I had placed my new pokeball 2dsxl in it just the one time and hadn't removed it or attempted to remove it, yet somehow the tab broke

One tab broke off the first time I removed the grips even though I was very careful and used no force

I'm returning it for a new one since it really is a comfortable grip, but I wish there was some sort of instruction sheet on how to put the 2ds in it and how to take it out without breaking or weakening those tabs

The Only issues I have with it are that the tabs that hold the 2ds in break fairly easily and the grip makes it impossible to fit my device in my pocket

It is sturdy, but since there have been a few reports that the tabs securing the handheld breaks easily, it has yet to happen on mine - but considering I haven't taken the thing off since I placed it on my 2DS XL, only time will tell.

For the price, I would definitely pick this up if you get hand cramps or seem to re adjust your hands a lot when playing the DS
