Plugged it in to a spare usb port, and went to "Sounds" on my computer's control panel, deactivated my logi camera's microphone, and my computer's internal microphone, activated the cmteck microphone as default, and it worked fine

but I fixed that by turning my computer speakers away from the microphone - 90 degree angle worked fine.
