overall, the product looks and sounds great. would definitely recommend to others
The sleek looking body and the numerous positive reviews were very encouraging to me
So, all in all, if you're on a budget and have a need for a quiet practice instrument (or if you just want a really cool looking electric
I did follow all the recommendations to purchase peg drops and a new bridge for this unit, so hopefully once his parents have this all installed / replaced properly, it will be a fun, neat looking, AND genuinely functional violin for him to play
The free bonus amp cable they gave you works just fine for this
I had no trouble (beyond what one would expect from any peg tuned instrument with new strings) getting it to tune up, and the rosin worked fine with the bow for me.
There seems to be a bulge around the end of the pegs that keeps them from seating well, but if you CAREFULLY shave that off with a good sharp knife and sand it so that it's rather rough the peg will be more manageable (worked for ME, anyway.)
The electronics work great, it sounds good even when not turned on
Thankfully the pegs work just fine for tuning with a little peg compound on them

It's a much better bridge than the one that comes with it
The Cecilio is a much better build, as it is made of wood, the bridge is superior, and the case is WAY better
But with an electric instrument of this nature, the sound comes from the vibrating string and the bridge and the piezo pickup and electronics.
Buy a 15 dollar Glaesel adjustable bridge (medium), and you've just created a fantastic violin for around 100 dollars
This item came with the violin, bow, 4 strings, 1 fine tuner (E string), chin rest, shoulder rest, nylon soft case, wooden bridge, rosin, amp cord, in-ear headphones, and one 9v battery
Don't be uninformed, & don't assume inferior quality just because of this fact
The quality of this violin is pretty cheap.
Moderate quality, limit hair, and not worth any effort
I understand that this probably isn't the best quality violin out there, but it was cheap and I know that as I get better, I'll have to upgrade my instrument.
headphones are low quality but I would still recomend it
And the only thing stoping me from giving 5 stars is the bow isnt that great
It even comes complete with a reasonable bow, rosin, a little cushion (that I haven't tried), headphones, a cord to connect to an amp, and a surprisingly nice carry case - think electric guitar style
A dry bow is a hissing bow and the electric part really picks it up
aside from that, everything works fine, the bow is 'meh' quality, ended up using my own bow because it was actually straight
The bow is surprisingly nice for something included in a "set" deal
i am very happy with this product although my only concern was the flimsy E-string
Well, we read the reviews, and decided to take the chance and get this violin for our daughter.
While a professional violin does only have an e-string fine tuner, I prefer to have all four

There are bad reviews for every "cheap entry-level" stringed instrument, including guitars, and especially on ukuleles & violions that all say the same thing
The instrument is a little heavier than an "acoustic violin" and it will not support your shoulder rest--you will need to cut on a sponge or styrofoam to replicate the feel of your shoulder rest.
This makes attaching a shoulder rest difficult or impossible depending on the rest.

I contacted Amazon about the missing shoulder rest and etc.
