VOX V9106 10W Pathfinder Combo - 2024 report by Whydis
VOX V9106 10W Pathfinder Combo
Color:Classic
From their classic diamond grille cloth to their unmistakable tone; the Pathfinder amps are pure VOX. Each offers Gain, Volume, Treble and Bass controls for crafting your signature sound. The filtered line output is ideal personal rec...
Its compact size and decent vintage look make it easy to keep out in the house without looking clunky and ugly.
In addition to having the power to fill a decent sized venue, amazing tone (clean and dirty), and being small enough to fit anywhere and fit in your passenger seat, it looks very stylish too
I plugged into it and the sound was great--and I heard myself say, "That's better!"Great size and price
This lil baby is epic!Perfect size, and it is beautiful
The size is super convenient for moving around, or setting on top of things
Small practice amp with nice volume and classic vox cleans
Would be nice if it had a midrange control or perhaps reverb like the now discontinued Pathfinder 15R, but can't complain much because you get pretty good classic Vox tones, especially on the clean channel
Only 10 watts of power, but Excellent sound- nice clean Vox tones

You have to crank it to do those things and solid state amps just don't sound as good maxed as they do at mid levels
I much prefer to use this amp as a practice amp: it's lightweight, loud enough, great clean sounds, takes my pedal board great, and it's solid state: no tubes to replace
However, the reality is all low end solid state practice amps are terrible for tube amp folks
Can't comment on reliability, but the only solid state amp I've owned that ever failed was one I dropped off my boat
and it sounds ridiculously good for its size and price (and solid state setup)
This amp does not technically sound "good" but it sounds like exactly what it is, an inexpensive practice amp
This is the perfect practice amp for bedroom or living room.
I just wanted a cheap practice amp and the VOX is perfect
It surpasses my Roland in sound, tone, richness, and I would even say volume even though the Vox has a slightly smaller speaker and even though the Roland is as loud an undersized practice amp as you'll find
It really is a nice practice Amp and the Price is right on this Amp.
I can get a Bush-like dirty tone with ease on my fender strat SSS and the overdrive with gain turned up a bit
I have a Vox AC15 as my main amp and wanted to get that great tone on the go.
The pathfinder adds enough of the warm VOX tone I was looking for with all knobs set at 12 o'clock and the channel set to clean
In addition to having the power to fill a decent sized venue, amazing tone (clean and dirty), and being small enough to fit anywhere and fit in your passenger seat, it looks very stylish too
Of course it's not an AC30, but it still has that great chimey Vox tone and terrific British crunch and overdrive
Another correction: I plugged a different guitar in to the amp and it works fine.
I also own a Rogue G-10, which I had purchased over a year ago, and I was starting to get sick of its tinny sound
My guitar has neodymium pickups and sounds excellent out of just about every amp, but this amp here manages to may my guitar sound like a box set instrument from walmart
Sure, it doesn't get blisteringly loud, so you probably won't be performing with it anytime soon, but it does get loud enough to jam with a small group, probably with a drummer (as long as he doesn't thunder away as loud as he can). You really cannot beat this amp for 70 bucks.
My boyfriend is a great guitar enthusiast and he loves this
