Second off the way it has to mount to your car is next to impossible to put it somewhere you can actually view it while driving and lets get real if you can't view it in a safe, convenient place the use of your GPS or answering phone calls is no longer needed and boosting the phone is a waste because it's not in a functionally usable location

I had the antenna on a 9" pie plate for that test rather than a car and it worked just fine
I prefer to leave the inside antenna hanging loose, where it can be moved.

I just wish this was not an issue, because I do travel in areas with marginal cell phone service.
