This kit worked great and extracted the screw in 20 seconds.

I have used this kit a couple of times with some hex head screws and had limited success.

The kit will likely work just fine on smaller (non automotive) projects.

Tried to extract a stainless steel bolt with this set to no avail

Had a tiny stainless steel #6 set screw stuck in an aluminum forging because i failed to heat the loctite before attempting removal

Used on stainless steel screws, had used drilling fluid for the first step but worked perfectly once I made the initial hole

The set comes with a wide variety of sizes for several sized screws and is made of stainless steel, so I expect it it work well and last awhile

I needed to remove a tiny set screw that was holding together some parts of a very nice ($200) LED work light.

I wasn't able to use these for my initial purchase intention as they don't work well for a stuck grub screw on a rc car (tiny screw that's hardened, and I couldn't even drill it out, ended up having to use a dremel to cut it apart!)However since I purchased it I went around and tried it on a few more screws I knew were stripped, Between the two separate styles, and the nice variety of sizes, these worked GREAT

The alloy these are made of is brittle garbage and broke immediately upon light hand torque.

Removing a stripped screw seems like it should be as slick as pulling out an unstripped screw

Even trying to drill into soft brass wood screws did not work.

These didn’t break on me like many reviews state, but the drill bit couldn’t drill into the screw enough to even use the extractor

What you want to do is get a set of cheap drill universe drill bits and use that
