I told them it seemed hard to believe that the motor protected within the machine could have been broken in shipping and that it looked liked poor quality

It is not very expensive and that's what you get -- a cheap quality product

Personally I would recommend swapping them out for some better quality bolts (which I plan on doing)

I write this only to say that perhaps careless quality control on Weslo's part has cost me bucks, and they might wish to tighten things up there so that something like this won't happen to some one else.
