Am going to purchase 3 more of this great ice cream maker for my 3 children.

That said, I love having an ice cream machine with a metal container, which does not require pre-freezing and I have made a dozen or so absolutely delicious ice cream batches.

This is the best ice cream maker I have ever used

I've used it to make ice cream and frozen yogurt, and the texture is about as close to store-bought ice cream as you can get

(Skipping the curing step in making the base will result in inferior ice cream quality so don’t do that!)

I might add that, although I used this machine often, I babied it and did not abuse it - pausing the churning blade when it became slow when the ice cream was about ready and not moving the machine around other than to slide it forward on the counter to use it.

Problem is ice cream is to soft

I do recommend you cool your mixture down to room temperature before adding to the machine, ice cream is thicker, like soft ice cream

I've made various ice creams, frozen yogurt, and gelato flavors which were deemed either comparable or better than the family's gold standard Fosselman's Ice Cream

The ice cream freezes quite hard in the bowl if left on the freeze setting, and it was a pain to try and scoop the ice cream out with the mixing paddle frozen in the middle of it.

So, I didn't realize all the steps involved in making good ice cream custard/mix prior to purchasing this

The ice cream is quite soft when finished but sets up well after several hours in your home freezer

Like many other things in life follow the directions!The unit is quiet during operation and takes about 40 min to freeze pre chilled ice cream base.

This keeps the ice cream cold while you add other ingredients.

Another word to the wise, the machine will keep the ice cream cold up to 10 minutes after it turns off

Being diabetic and having a surplus of fresh milk we are using this almost daily right now so also saving on our ice cream purchases making DELICIOUS fresh, sugar free iceream which all of the family enjoys as often as they can

We used to have a cuisinart that only made about 1.5 quarts but we like this taller one more as it makes more ice cream and it takes up less space.
