I have a good cycling ABUS lock which also has an alarm but this little alarm is for quick stops, let’s say I stop at a convenience store to grab a Gatorade, I don’t want to get the lock out, find a fixed post and attach the bike, also this alarm will be a 2nd alarm whenever I locked my bike, the thief will be busy

So I ordered this as an additional theft deterrent to my sturdy lock for the frame and wheels

no a good lock and proper locking procedures is still the best measure.

I think maybe I have received a defective unit because it started making a loud clicking noise which I couldn’t stop with the remote

I put the unit under the seat on my Honda Ruckus scooter and it works great

Of course I use a bike lock, but this is piece of mind for about $20.**Really loud alarm.

This little alarm is surprisingly loud, I really like it

You're supposed to hold down some button, and then shake the alarm until it beeps

I love the alarm because it's scared the crap out of me when I touch it when it's

But this alarm is great for when you're out on the town and leave it in a parking lot somewhere, if anyone touches your bike this will go off

And they work surprising well.

I would say it's way louder than 113dB, it's ear piercing to say the least

If the battery in the remote control dies you have no way of disarming the alarm short of cutting it

This way I can just hang the alarm from my bicycle seat, and remove it when I want to
