when it does come it's inconsistent from one location to another a 1/2 mile away, so the extra, subscriptoin smart features are of no use to me

I like the sleek look of this controller over the older box controller it replaced, but I especially like the ability to control the sprinklers using the app instead of turning it off/on at the base

Only tricky part was figuring out how to make use of the free year of smart service

Setting up the complimentary 1 year of sprinkler plus was easy, you simply set it and forget it as the service will automatically schedule the system based on weather patterns in your area.

I then went to activate the free year of “sprinkler plus” support, which comes with the unit

(2-year) replacement and the valves work fine.

Bottom line: for the price, this is an awesome sprinkler controller

Had to return Wyze even though I like the product compact form and ease of wiring.

This app is incredible with so many features all for 57.98

I can’t say anything about the device yet as I could not pass the initial step of creating an account on the the app, which I can say is a worst app I have ever seen in my professional life

The App also lies about its communications with the controller for manual control

The app is really easy to navigate and set up zone times for watering.

SO the App LIES when it says that it told the controller to turn on watering and that the controller acknowledged the command

I was not interested in the smart water automated as i would be worried of software bugs not watering my garden when on vacation

Not sure I would trust its smart watering - bugs in its ap software or its server software could stop watering for some weeks while on vacation and it could kill my garden

smart watering is great, it breaks up my 45min water into 3 parts for each station so that it allows water to absorb before completing the 45 minutes

This was to check how well the intelligent water system would work

Check the sprinkler - no water - but this worked 5 minutes ago!

But just one week of usage, this Wyze Controller failed to turn off the 2 of the stations once they started by the program.

My current system has 8 zones and was using a Rain-Bird controller, so this Wyze controller is ideal since it goes up to 8 zones.

I gave up on it, went back and set up my schedule using dumb controller mode, and then decided to try activating it one more time

I was able to replace my old dumb controller with the Wyze controller fairly easily

You can also turn it on and off when needed if the schedule is not enough

I'm giving this 1 star because it fails at the most basic function with no way to fix it: the system keeps running the schedule even though the schedule is disabled

All it says is one line that it has fixed, smart and off line scheduling ,but no instructions on how to do any of the 3

But I signed up for the Sprinkler plus and got my Smart schedules set up in the app

But an everyday non-engineer would have returned the unit at one or more of those deadly sins

Deadly sin 2: every configure app needs to allow the customer to skip steps: I’m not going to mount the damned thing until I know that it works

Deadly sin 1: do not force your customers to download your software multiple times

Deadly sin 4: don’t have selling-point features fail to activate
