its cool, fire starter is a joke but might work in a total emergency

If I have to carry a kit so I can carry a "proper" fire starter as others have mentioned and a proper compass, then I'm sure I could squeeze a little whistle and paracord in there as well.

I have several good quality fire starters but other than the first few times after getting them never carry them with me because I haven't found a convenient or consistent way of doing

Not sure how many strikes the fire starter will last because after a few strikes it started shaving down the fire stick, however if you leave it until you actually need it during a situation it will work perfect
