Xerox DocuMate 3120 Duplex Color Scanner for PC and Mac - 2024 report by Whydis
Xerox DocuMate 3120 Duplex Color Scanner for PC and Mac
The Xerox DocuMate 3120 color sheetfed document scanner takes your papers, credit cards, ID cards and forms and stores them securely on your computer or in the cloud readily accessible when you need them. It can scan up to 50 images per minute (ipm) ...
I purchased it at a great price and for that price, this is an excellent device
The device did need cleaning with alcohol before I could get clean and streak free copies, which is probably a result of all the tape used in shipping in order to keep the components secure.
We are already tight on space, so it is nice to have a compact device that sits on the corner of the desk or can be put on a shelf when not in use
Maybe this device has so many capabilities that it makes it too complex for me, a humble physician with an undergraduate degree in engineering!
Even though I have a large desk, it’s far too easy to clutter it up with all the electronic devices available.

I did have to do a proper uninstall/reinstall after upgrading my computer to Win 10 Pro, but this applied to ALL my printers (scanner, label printer, laser printer, etc.), so I can't fault the Xerox DocuMate for that
DocuMate is wonderful and the software is easy to use.

Setup is pretty easy, with an instructional poster and CD to guide you through installation and instructions.
Setup is a breeze because there is nothing to assemble on the scanner except to connect the wall plug to the scanner and connect the cable from scanner to your computer.

If you purchase and have access to do so, highly recommend downloading the latest drivers and other software from Xerox's support page and running those vs. running the ones on the included disc.

Don't expect the optical recognition to catch everything unless you are running it at 1200dpi, but when I did seems like it didn't miss a single letter

Excellent scan quality and ease-of-use complement the overall stability and durability of this scanner, which is fantastic for localized desktop use
The quality of the scan from every document I scanned is visually indistinguishable from the original, and you can choose to scan in color or black and white
We have used ones in the past that weren't very efficient or good quality, but the Xerox does a great job.
It comes with a host of good quality software including simple document management as well as a robust OCR solution
Except for extremely pale originals, the quality of the saved scan is very adequate for my needs
