This unit will not work with the FM link like the car kit does.

The unit is very nice and easy to setup and use.

This kit allows you to use your portable XM Unit in the home/garage etc... with AC power

but, this unit works just as described.

In fact all we really needed to get was the right power cord and that unit would have worked equally well.
