XM XPMP3H1 Portable Satellite Radio and MP3 Player (XMp3i) (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

    • This is a great portable unit when used with the antenna head phones...purchased separately!
    • Meantime, I noticed that there were no units available and no expected availability date was listed.
    • And of course, I will never buy another unreviewed product! The unit looked nice out of the box, acceptably small and ipod-like scroll wheel.
    • The unit still freezes up once in a while or restarts itself.
    • First, I carefully unpacked the unit with trepidation wondering if I should just send it back the following day without even going through the frustration that surely lay ahead
    • If you like XM but don't want to spend $200 a year for music only in your car this is the unit for you
    • theyve not dumped this XMP3i unit &
    • This unit seems to work flawlesly and is exactly what I wanted.
    • This unit would be fine as a portable MP3 player playing your own recorded songs off of the SD card though.
    • I love this unit
    • I don't think I have a faulty unit.
    • Navigation was intuitive, firmware was stable and bug-free, and battery life was pretty good for a portable unit
    • There is one NEW unit available on the site as I write this . .
    • At random, the unit often freezes and becomes unresponsive
    • This is a good unit.
    • Unlike other players I have bought, this unit is very versatile.
    • Until these issues are addressed or a newer unit comes out that gets it right, I would not be able to recommend this unit to anyone I know.
    • It took nearly 40 minutes and I began to worry that I might have a defective unit
    • But what is the point of a portable unit if its not portable
    • Unit is awesome
    • And there is a USED unit available for almost half again more than what I paid.
    • Also, using the portable unit in the car is crazy dangerous.
    • This unit stopped working after 7 months use.
    • My current unit has lost all ability to scroll thru channels with the "wheel".
    • I have now been using this type of portable satellite unit for over 4 years and can say that I have been very happy with the technology for my application which is mostly running outside.
    • Advertising this as a portable unit when it only works in the most ideal conditions is a misnomer.
    • The unit remained dark as if turned off, but still recorded in that mode
    • Oh yeah, every once in awhile the unit just freezes up for no reason.
    • I have had several portable units and this is truly an awful product.
    • The volume controls have a glitch when your pressing them they'll cause the radio to power off, But when it powers back on the flimsy scroll wheel WONT WORK, the unit needs to drain the batterie and recharge before the xmp3i's cheap scrool wheel works againCON
    • Buy a cheap unit next time that can be easily replaced.
    • After doing all of this, it was a serious bummer to discover that the XM portable unit limits the output volume severely when sitting in the car dock.
    • However, as most reviews have mentioned, the unit is incapable of reception without the external antenna.
