Reviews around compression (5.00 of 5)

  • It sounds like it's going to be great, being able to compress the kids, highs and lows separately should make really good subtle and high quality compression, TC has been setting the bar for quite a
  • Great compression pedal, surprised how heavy it was for such a tiny piece of hardware
  • the other one is just the volume. and a little 3 way toggle switch and make it the most versatile compression ever?
  • And the toggle switch between low mid and high compression is very responsive and straight forward, you select your preferred compression and then simply blend it with the original signal

Reviews around sustain (5.00 of 5)

  • and you can just get that sweet sustain going and going and going
  • Med is full and gives me Gilmour like clean sustain with few of the artifacts I normally associate with compressors!!Hi gives me a nice 1980s-squashed-within-an inch-of-its-life, but still chimey sound
  • , I forgot to mentioned I tried the Keeley 4 knob compressor, which was great... but seriously, no were NEAR the amount lovely singing sustain... just lovely

Reviews around size (5.00 of 5)

  • It's very very sturdy and its small size is perfect for a crowded pedalboard.
  • Small in size, perfect for smaller size pedalboards or easy to carry in one's guitar case

Reviews around boost (4.47 of 5)

  • The "high mid low" toggle in combination with the volume and blend knob can create pretty much any clean tone you want: from the highly compressed and percussive Police/Talking Heads/New Wave sound to just a simple, non compressed clean boost to a shimmering fat boost
  • If you turn the blend down to 0% it works as a clean boost
  • no better). It stacks well with the EP booster and another comp/boost in the chain, too
  • depending on what I'm doing blended dry-ish and squashed for strat, 50/50 blend low comp, and a healthy boost with humbuckers for when I'm feeling a little louder ;)
  • There is more volume on tap as well, and I can see how it could also be used as a useful clean boost.

Reviews around product (4.40 of 5)

  • I've tried pedals from Xotic Effects before and they're a good company ... solid products and reliability.
  • Whether you want to drive your amp a little harder or just squash your signal, this product is impossible to beat
  • Terrific product - the best compromise for size and sound on your pedalboard.
  • Well Done Xotic, I can't wait to try more of your excellent products!!

Reviews around tone (4.16 of 5)

  • But this slightly tends to muddy the tone when you are doing clean rhythms though, or maybe i am setting it up wrong
  • Beautiful full, super clean tone with just the right amount of breakup for pick attack
  • Not quite as beefy for huge, overdriven solos as some... but absolutely awesome for clean or mid-crunchy tones
  • I watch some videos of this compressor and the tone sounded great, so I took a chance and am glad I did.
  • Enjoy playing with the volume and blend knobs -- so many great tones

Reviews around sound (4.12 of 5)

  • Incredible pedal, gives the guitar a smooth, silky sound
  • Okay, so... it's small, easy to dial in a good sound, very inexpensive, made here in the US, and has a wonderful transparency to it
  • Furthermore, when I play with a lot of attack I get a weird sound from this pedal, kind of a double thump, which sounds terrible.
  • Compressors can be a beast to control and you do have to go on faith that they work with out squashing or clouding your sound
  • Whenever I use the 9V power input it make a terrible sounding

Reviews around attack (3.86 of 5)

  • Also, if you like that hard percussive attack , woof , man
  • Finally made the decision due to trying to control dynamics and even out attack when amp master is cranked
  • The great thing about this compressor is the blend switch, which you can set so you don't lose that initial attack from a strum but still benefit from the sustain
  • Also, if you like that hard percussive attack , woof , man
  • Inside there are 4 dip switches that let you choose, fast or slow attack and release, and low and high cut for frequencies to either brighten or darken the tone.

Reviews around guitar (3.61 of 5)

  • i was using the keeley compressor which is do good, but the sp compressor is for me the best guitar compressor that i ever use until now, very quiet...
  • The mini toggle lets you choose between low, mid, and high compression settings, the blend knob lets you dial in the unaffected guitar signal to help it sound more natural, and the volume helps to maintain unity volume when you kick it on, or let it boost your signal for solos.
  • Please trust me and know that this IS the best sounding guitar compressor out there
  • The tone is really sparkly and nice, but the controls are a pain and when I played a loud G (3rd fret 1st string) it made a faint banging distortion kind of sound in the background.

  • The tone is really sparkly and nice, but the controls are a pain and when I played a loud G (3rd fret 1st string) it made a faint banging distortion kind of sound in the background.
  • One additional BEST THING about this compressor is the high frequency cut you can activate internally
  • This thing is very susceptible to interference and hum
  • The great thing about this compressor is the blend switch, which you can set so you don't lose that initial attack from a strum but still benefit from the sustain
  • After spending some time tweaking the settings, I can do great things with the

Reviews around knob (3.22 of 5)

  • No mental energy wasted on too many unnecessary knobs.
  • But to the SP...I love the simple 2-knob, one switch design to access controls that you need during performance, and DIP switches that you'd set once and forget
  • I would honestly prefer solid knobs over the clear, but not even close to a show stopper for me
