Yamaha DD65 Electronic Drum Pad Premium Package with Headphones, Power Supply, Drum Sticks, and 2 Foot Pedals
Style:DD65 Premium Pack
The Yamaha DD-65 is the perfect compact all-in-one combination for the prospective drummer. In its trendy design the DD-65 offers eight touch sensitive drum pads and two foot pedals that allows expressive playing. To play to...
I'm a guitar player who has played the drums for many years, but can't afford an acoustic set nor could I make a lot of noise in my apartment
The acoustic set is good too, especially considering the price.-MidiThis is initially the reason I was looking for drum pads
The set that I had for the past fifteen years finally died (it was a pad-set that needed an external sound module) and I wanted something that had sounds in it
The DD-65 ALSO sounds plenty good (and has plenty of volume) if you plug a decent set of headphones or in-ears into the phone jack
By my 20s, I played multiple instruments and had nice recording studio with a killer acoustic set
I plug my I-Pod ear buds into this thing and can blow by ears out while everyone in the house is sleeping
The other great thing about this drum set is the amount of drum kits that you can choose from
The voices weren't very realistic, and the unit lacks two important things (for me, anyway), namely independent volume control per pad and the ability to pan pads for stereo effect
The best thing about this set for one is the fact that when you hammer on one drum the one next to it almost never goes off
The amazing thing about this machine is that it sounds sooooooo good
The first unit I got was missing a foot pedal but the entire unit was returned and then replaced and at my door in about five days at no cost to me using ordinary shipping, thanks to the Amazon return policy.

Otherwise the unit works great with the exception of the bass functions.
This is a great unit as is, if all you're using it for is a little bit of fun, or a gift for a young aspiring drummer
Overall, this unit is so great for the price, I really think these problems don't matter
I am also confused as to why the price of the ailing kit is the same as the drum machine itself
They really don't work well as you would expect compared to an acoustic drum set
and then one stick crossing over to hit the snare (can't remember the exact name for this technique).Bottom line: the sounds are very good, the playability is very good, the "fun factor" for kids is EXCELLENT, the "teachability" factor for kids is EXCELLENT (can't think of a better way to learn) and overall it's just a great piece of kit.
Final note: my favorite way to play this kit is with the headphones.
If you are looking for a portable drum kit or a cheap way to get into playing drums this is for you
Great sounds, easy to change settings, easy to use, fits well on a snare drum stand
The Yamaha DD-65 is made to receive a standard snare drum stand to the bottom as a way of playing it without putting it on a table.
There are positives however: it has a very nice sound, ports for use with a snare drum stand, and a very diverse song database for learning the art of percussion
The DD-65 has recesses on the bottom that fit a snare drum stand and it makes it very comfortable to use.

I am also confused as to why the price of the ailing kit is the same as the drum machine itself
The pedals were extremely cheap, and you'll just end up purchasing additional equipment to appease yourself rather than just saving your money for a full electronic kit like the Nitro Kit.
The good news is that for another $200ish you can buy two nice pedals for the hi-hat and kick drum, and they'll work on carpet no problem
Many different realistic drum sounds/kits, velocity sensitive pads, pedals, and more features for us to discover and grow into
This set is almost good enough for a beginning drummer, or to be a super portable kit for an experienced drummer, but the pedals are lousy, and you have to choose full sets of pre programmed drums, none of which are quite right, instead of being able to mix and match.
One thing I did is to swap sounds out on the top right and right middle pads.
First, when you strike the drum pad on some of the selections, you must hit it really hard to be able to hear anything
The pads look sturdy, not sure how they'll hold up over
It's more frustrating especially for a beginner to have inconsistent pad sensitivity
