Great sound, great features, easy to learn remote functions

The HDMI inputs are a nice feature with one HDMI output to TV

However everything is functional and I appreciate not only the improved sound quality but the improved control over audio input and output.

I love the way I can connect my fire stick direct to this device and then control the sound and device with the Yamaha remote, newer tv can be controlled too!

Price is right and a worthy buy for us

A very fair price.

It sounds great for a reasonable price

This is due to a wood trim piece in front, but once that piece is cleared I have 6-1/4" of clearance

Because it's a fancy ornate piece that is glued and mortised into the sliding wood platform, therefore removing and re-installing it would be a bit*h

The Amazon site says this unit is 6" tall, so I figured I can just angle the receiver into the opening to clear the front wood trim piece

I used Yamaha drum set, a friend uses an electronic keyboard work station, they trust their recordings to Yamaha, I trust sound reproduction

Plus all the speakers inputs in the back take banana plug connectors, which I really like for convenience and not having to deal with the cheap spring clip connectors and oxidation of copper wires

Wired up easy to my built-in ceiling mount surround sound speakers and tv, works GREAT!

After buying a 65" LG 4k TV & finding out the picture is great but speakers r crap & then buying a sound bar to improve audio on just everyday cable tv & still audio is crap, took the plunge to buy this Yamaha amp & paired with Yamaha NS-SP1800BL 5.1 CH HTSS, now the audio on tv shows & movies is so much better & understandable

I like that they packaged the unit that way, because I like to keep my retail boxes on electronics items

Love the volume max I set to keep the kids from accidentally turning it up too loud.

& I would recommend this unit to everyone for an intro to 5.1 surround sound at a low price for amp & speakers.l

If you remove the factory feet remember that you need to replace them with something else to elevate the unit

I love this unit and it's such an upgrade from the Insignia I had

Anyway since I like Yamaha receivers and I just bought a new TCL 4K TV that was just released (The 49" 5 series 2018

I didn't want to have to downgrade my receiver due to the height issue, so I found an awesome alternative!!Tip the receiver upside down and you will see four black plastic pieces used as the feet for this unit

For the price, I don't believe you can find a better 5.1 receiver
